Sorry that link dose not work for me maybe because I don't live in the US. Question the owner of Amazon is Jeff Bezos he also owns the Washington Post who is the most anti Trump paper. Bezos and WP could not be any more left wing.
“So people are like ‘Oh it’s unrealistic, oh it’s vague, oh it doesn’t address this little minute thing’ and I’m like ‘You try! You do it!’ Because you’re not, so until you do it, I’m the boss, how about that?” -- AOC Terrifying, really.
She was excellent today at the hearing. Zeroed in, focused, smart. She's a young woman with much to learn, yes; also yes for her potential.
Just gets better and better. https://www.ccn.com/airhead-ocasio-cortez-declares-war-moderate-democrats Airhead Alert! AOC and other far-left members of the splintered Democrat Party were furious this week after 24 moderate Democrats sided with Republicans on a bill that would expand background checks for gun purchases. Ocasio-Cortez’s rep said she told her colleagues that moderate Democrats who side with Republicans on this issue “are putting themselves on a [hit] list.” While Democrats want restrictions on the Second Amendment, AOC and her motley crew of open-borders leftists were outraged that a provision requires ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to be notified if illegal immigrants try to buy guns. This goes against the leftist orthodoxy of rabidly promoting illegal immigration — regardless of the heavy financial burden and social costs to Americans.
Yep. She focused on the Trump business practices. No grand-standing. Straight to the point. One of the best questioners on the panel.
It was the right wing media who first took great interest to assert the entire Democratic party is socialist. I remember this clearly. It verged on hysteria. Very early on, when she won the primary, I received a frantic call from my right wing, evangelical best friend in Florida who informed me her whole circle was up in arms. I had barely paid AOC any attention back then. I agree there is too much attention paid to her this early on in her career.
I do not think that she is the witless person that she is being portrayed as, and I do think that she is being promoted for some reason. I am not sure by who, or for what reason, at this point. She has gone from being an unknown person a few months ago, to someone who is totally recognized by just her initials. She said she didn’t know how she could afford an apartment in Washington DC; but now she has a $10, 000, 000 + contract with Netflix for a documentary about her struggle to become a member of Congress. She has a comic book series coming out that portrays her as kind of a political Wonder Woman, complete with the Super-hero costuming. There has even been a lot of talk about her running for president in 2024, when she is old enough to be elected. None of this is what you would expect to be happening with a brand new and unknown member of Congress.
I didn't watch her today but that's my unfortunate loss. But I'm wondering now, who is this Wonder Woman that can act like an accomplished prosecutor one day and yet make some think she's a joke. She's got talent.
When I first enlisted in the Army, I was tested and was asked to go to OCS (officer’s candidate school). I was told that I had the “potential” to become a good officer. I was 17 years of age and in no way could I see myself as an officer and leader of men until I had a lot of military experience under my belt so I backed down on the offer. The point is that yes, Cortez does have some potential but she should have gotten a little more life and political experience prior to running for one of the highest offices in the land. At this point, she’s really busy realizing her own grandeur and thinking that everything she says is smart which is and is continually going to get her into a lot of trouble. As it stands, she’s a prime example of the old addage: “When you’re up to your butt in alligators, it’s one heckova time to try to devise a method in which to drain the swamp.”
Some people can actually learn quickly on the job. Most people are smart enough to listen and take advice from experienced people. Some aren't. One Representative can't do too much harm by himself/herself during the learning period. I'm willing to cut someone some slack at first, if they have good character.
