@Nancy Hart My sister's first husband, a hill-country guy from Pennsylvania, shocked us once by preparing a snack: slice of white bread slathered with ketchup! Frank Oh, neither A or B: my wife's keto affair disallows fries or ketchup in the house.
@Bob Kirk Have you ever dipped them in Mayo? About the only time I get any is at Denny's Restaurant. Frank
Ketchup is permissible and even wonderful on Kielbasa Sausage and Sauerkraut! But on French Fries...get outta here! Harold
@Mary Robi Delicious-sounding combination! We had scads of horseradish growing along our road in Missouri, but failed to be able to dig any up. The ground was just too rocky. Frank
I rarely use ketchup on my fries. My favorite way to eat fries is with a generous sprinkle of malt vinegar. If I feel the need to dip into anything it is ranch dressing or bbq sauce. If I do dip it must be "on the side" as I prefer to control the amount I dip. My Mom loved gravy all over her fries .. I could never get into that .. made them soggy and in my mind fries - or chips - should be crispy.
Haven't tried that but will next time my wife bakes fries. Feel sorry for fast food places, they wouldn't exist if people were like my wife & me. Last time we ate at one has to be two or three years ago, I think it was a burger king but not sure..
We stopped buy Heinz catsup after comparing the amount of sugar versus other manufacturers. It's has sugar, corn syrup and enhanced(whatever that word is) corn syrup. I'm a B my wife is an A. Used to put mayo on them occasionally. BTW I used to love to put mayo on hot chicken.
I dip my chips (fries) in mayo...I have it on the side , but I love to have mayo and chips.. In France they routinely serve up bags or portions of chips smothered in Mayo....
In one of his movies, Clint Eastwood rebuked his partner, who was putting Ketchup on his fries: "Nobody...NOBODY...puts Ketchup on their fries!" Hal
