I wasn’t sure that I would find something from 1945 that would be a vehicle that I would identify with and want to own, but I thought that I should at least look and see if there were any possibilities. What I found totally blew my mind ! ! It turns out that there was a vehicle made during the war years, right here in Huntsville, Alabama, where I now live, called the “Keller Car”. The model that I really like was a wood-sided station wagon called the “Keller Super Chief”, and when I saw this, I just KNEW that this would have been my choice of vehicle from that era. THAT’s precisely what I really really want! A Vietnam War era 1/4 ton Jeep! Okay, to stay on topic I’ll take a Korean War era Jeep. Probably about the same thing but yeah, I want one. Of course, if someone threw in that Huey UH1-D, I’d be even happier!
When I look at cars that came out in 1951, I'd be pleased with any of them. But, I'm not a complicated guy. I think I'd choose the 1951 Ford Country Squire. But then, the 1951 Hoffmann and the 1951 Iota 350 Sport are special, too.
