The older I get the more hats and caps I tend to wear. Gone are the days when I was freezing in winter just because I thought headpieces wouldn't look good on me. Was, no, had to be a bit vain. This is the latest I bought for the gardener in me.
I have worn hats it seems forever, first admiring my dadddy's hats and later not much caring what others wore or didn' t. Even in the military liked a smart looking head piece tucked and tilted just right as I determined how much but stayed well with -in regulations. Not appreciated as much as now days but I still have several hats and caps, and barets from Canada and Spain. I don't wear the barets much anymore except on special occasions due to so many military units that wear them, although mine are civilian caps. But I'm a hat guy although I did donate a number of hats and several caps to the special olympics.
If I may say so, It do look as if someone tangled with a paper shredder, of course I may be behind the times on women's fashion
I like the 30s-style flat cap Brad Pit was wearing at the Cannes press conference promoting Once upon a time... also starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Some people compare the two with the Robert Redford/Paul Newman duo. Was it coincidence that Brad Pit was wearing the same sort of flat cap (see link) that Redford wore in "The Clou", one of my favorite movies? If Leonardo had worn a similar hat as Paul Newman was wearing in the film, it would have indicated that Pit and DiCaprio liked that comparison. I'm gonna buy such a flat cap which comes in a wide variety of styles and material. The one I really like may be hard to get hold of, though. The other day I passed by a man wearing exactly my kind of model. I was on the verge of taking it off his head... https://www.filmcomment.com/blog/cannes-dispatch-once-upon-a-time-in-hollywood/
@Thomas Stearn Sounds like a great idea, Tom! I have been b to wean myself from wearing baseball caps, and ordered one from Amazon. It is a Brixton men's Brood, adjustable, newsboy snap hat. I bought it to with a brown, wool topcoat I got for Christmas. ( I am also trying to wean myself from wearing black) I sorta lean toward the idea that a man makes the hat, not the other way around.
Exactly, Joe. I'm also a bit tired of wearing baseball caps almost exclusively. Such a cap is a nice change.
