I take your point Yvonne . The problem tho; I feel is that if people are already on those listed ( and more meds) which do interact with grape seed extract or any ''natural remedies''..can't just come off them to see if the naturals work , which of course they may not... ... , and they can't take the grape seed extract on top of the Pharma drugs because of the potential serious interactions...

    Rock and a hard place...

You are exactly right, Holly, and it is a difficult situation. I am struggling my way though one of those right now, in fact.
After my heart procedure several years ago , one of the things that I read about and started taking was Lugol’s iodine drops, because it helps regulate heart rhythm, along with helping the low thyroid problem that i was also having.
As my heart recovered, I slowly (and stupidly) stopped being dedicated with the iodine, and then last year, my heart went back into a-fib, and I had to have another procedure.
To keep my heart in rhythm, they put me on Amioderone, which is a dangerous drug, but it supplies iodine, so it actually helped the thyroid, too; but because of taking the drug, I couldn’t take the natural iodine.
Now, I am in the process of trying to get myself off of the Amioderone and replace it with the Lugol’s Iodine again, and not take too much of either one as I make the switchover.
The Amioderone is killing my kidneys and will make the kidney failure worse if I can’t get off of it, but the doctor wants to keep me on it to keep my heart working right.
It is a scary situation , no matter what I do.

Profound Improvements due to Grape Seed Extract that I know exist for me.:

First thing to go were drugs and allergist for allergies, sinus issues all my life before 1995. Have not touched one since I started "P" and then went to GSE.

My eye health is supreme, no script changes in 10 yrs and take eye supports of which one is Grape Seed Extract. No eye health issues and no eye doc visits in going on 10 yrs.

Gum health is excellent and was told back about 25 yrs ago had deep pockets and got busy with my supports and no gum issues, tight pink healthy gums. Last dental visit was over 8 yrs ago. Got sick and tired of those constant xrays and $100's for cleanings...I make my own Coconut Oil toothpaste or buy Now Foods CO toothpaste and they do a great job of cleaning my teeth. I floss and use a little H202 before going to sleep and have cut way way way back on sugars/carbs.

I have spent years in the sun and have had a lot of sun spots and with GSE many of these spots on hands and arms have disappeared.

Oh and no colds, flu and no vaccines either for at least 20 yrs.

This is what I know so far and the rest is to unfold as it will.

One can google just about every health condition and Grape Seed Extract and something comes up.

And I'd never tell anyone to get off their drugs...I'd like to be off BP meds but I believe they do me good. Same with desiccated thyroid support.

@Joy Martin. Good for you reaching 81. Do you believe in the benefits of grape seed extract? I have been drinking black grape juice for about the past five years after a friend and nutritionist said it was healthy. I take a daily probiotic supplement, a prostate supp, Vit D. I may have beaten Diabetes 2 with my ketogenic diet and dumping the white poison.

Dosages of around 300–800 mg per day for 8–16 weeks have been found safe and well-tolerated in humans. So is it ok to take permanently? I looked for info re not taking grape seed with vitamins.. can not find anything.

Have the answer. There is no firmly established dose of grape seed extract. Doses of between 100-300 milligrams/day have been used in studies and are prescribed in some European countries.

I can't imagine my life not taking Grape Seed Ex, and I take 200mg two times daily usually. Some days more, some days less. I've taken many brands and for years too the Swansons own brand of the 200mg cap...then for the last few years I've stayed with Olympian Labs 200mg caps. Seem to get best price on ebay as all prices have gone up over the years and for some reasons I stopped shopping swansons....but they do have good products all in all.

Grape seed addresses many cancer issues including prostate and is said to reduce diabetic issues.

It may prevent cancer and that's the main reason I started taking it. Also works on preventing amyloid plaque in the brain. I want to leave here cancer and dementia free...

Oh I drink very few juices and my favorite is low sodium V8 when I want a potassium boost as this low sodium type is high potassium. Many juices have too much sugars.

You have sold me on grape seed ex. Will ask wifey to keep an eye out for it when she next shops. I too drink low sodium/sugar V8. I have found a new juice that has the lowest level of nasties of all fruit juices. In fact it warrants a 5 health rating. It is made in my country so doubt whether you can get it in the States.

Good and as far as I'm concerned this is my huge way of beating big pharma at their drug games. Good chatting and I see you joined here about the same time I did.

The importance of potassium in the diet is very often down-played, or not played at all. Fact remains, potassium is critical to proper functioning of the heart, and the daily adult minimum requirement of it is TWICE the amount of sodium! Further muddying the waters is the fact that sodium is to be found in nearly everything we eat; not so with potassium, which makes getting enough of it yet more unlikely.

For example, bananas are always said to be high in potassium: to get the minimum daily amount from bananas would require eating 23 every day! So, knowing I like everything (almost) salty-tasting, I use No-Salt which is potassium chloride, instead of regular salt. 3/4 teaspoon contains the entire day's requirement of potassium.

I keep a steady supply of avocados in my house and hardly ever a banana..found they have too much sugar. And more binding for my constitution. But now and then break down a eat a semi ripe banana. j

I understand. I've been a "sugar-freak" all my life, no doubt due to the excessive eating of candy I did while small. Not sure why my mother, always health-conscious, allowed such gluttony of sweets; maybe my persistence drove her to it, as much of what I did was likely responsible, also. She was "stay at home", never worked, (except at dealing with the little "imp"), never drove, the "corner store", 1/2 block away was visited daily, the new "chain-stores" as she called them, notably Jewel Store, several blocks away, visited several times a week.

"Things" have changed, some for better, some not so much. Fresh meat could not be purchased on Sunday, at all. Period. Saturday, no meat after 6:00 PM. Why? Meatcutters' Union prohibited it. Prepared meats were always available. 24/7 was a concept not yet known. To buy meat, the contracts stipulated a Union employee must be present, even if he contributed nothing to the sale.

As I see it now decades later, mothers stayed home, cooked, baked and always baking sweets////and I feel that's why so much arthritis and then the dental issues, omg.....I really work at NOT bringing too many sweets into my place, if they are not here I will not know that and not eat them. Water is the best.

I stopped buying any of that tempting sugar stuff at the check out register years ago. Finally woke up.

Then when I heard from an author of some books on the toxic sugars, that

Cancer Cells Thrive In Sugary Environment

    This pushed me over.

I decided at this late date in my life I want to leave cancer and dementia free and hence I believe in the Grape Seed Ex and also reducing eliminating sugars SO MUCH as both will advance the above 2. Now I stopped getting dental xrays about 10 yrs ago and then started using Coconut Oil toothpaste about 8 yrs ago and have not seen a dentist in about 8 yrs....I clean my teeth good, CO, does a great job. And I've had so much dental work my earlier life, that I want no more. So I had to take control FINALLY><

Some may think I'm nuts but I love NOT going to any doctor. More later.
