Holly, remember, we lived there for 5 1/2 years (mid 2002 thru Oct 2007) and visited a number of places. During those years, we were both working descent paying jobs and could do much more than we will when we move back.

When we lived there, we did go into the mountains, but only once during the winter/snow months. We love Colorado during the summer months, but not so much during their winter months. If we could be Snow Birds, we'd have a place in Colorado during the summer, but live in Las Vegas or a suburb of Phoenix, NV during the winter months. BUT, since we can't be Snow Birds, have to endure the entire year of weather in Colorado.

I understand Cody...but as you were both working, and the likelihood will be that you will both be retired or at the very least have part-time jobs , then you'll have so much more time, to explore areas you've never been before you get too old to do it...

Good news about the Boat.. is it in dry dock?

There are only certain areas of Colorado that we like and we went to all of them when we lived there. But there are other things that we have missed, while living here in Florida, that we'll be glad to do again.……..like freshwater fishing.
Dry dock? Do you know what that is? This is what it is: Dry docks are used for the construction, maintenance, and repair of ships, boats, and other watercraft.
We had our boat in an outside Dry Storage, which means it was covered by a roof, but not inside of a building. There are Dry Storages that are buildings where boats and other watercraft are kept where no weather at all can get to them. Most Dry Storage places also have a forklift that puts the boat into the water, takes it out and puts back onto a rack. There are none of these in Colorado. If a boat is kept in a lake slip there, the boat will come out and go onto a trailer before the snow season starts. Most boats there are on trailers and stored that way at a Boat/RV Storage place, like where our boat is now.

    errrrm...do I know what a dry dock is?....lest you forget I have a 70 foot houseboat...?

We have a dry docks that sit sit side by side to our Marinas... where boats are craned off and back into the river.... ( forklifts wouldn't be far too small to pick them up)...

Did you read above what Wikipedia described as a "dry dock"? But, that's here in the U.S.. Don't know what "dry dock" would mean in the UK. When I was in the Navy, the ship I was on went into dry dock at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco for repairs and maintenance. The ship would be driven into the dry dock, which was full of water, the back area closed and water drained. Leaving the ship sitting on a platform so Yard workers could work on the sides and part of the bottom of the ship.

Well, there were some pretty big boats where we had our boat at. I seen the forklift take a 30 foot cabin cruiser off of it's rack and put onto a wash rack. Our boat is 20 feet long, so would have to add on another 10 feet for the cabin cruiser. The 30 footer was the longest boat I seen there.

Good luck. I have never lived in Colorado but have vacationed there and
have worked around the state for several years. I coul;dn't do that now
due to lung problems. But Colorado is one of the prettiest states in the Union.
