Pit: Wife called me, on her way home, and she had a flat tire on the freeway. Was in the far right lane, so able to pull off of the freeway. Now that we don't have the Dodge truck, didn't know how I was going to get to her. She told me to ask our apt. complex manager to bring me over. Well, since, in previous weeks, I've been talking about Colorado so much, and how much I dislike Jacksonville and Florida, I'm not the most popular/well liked person in the complex. Fortunately, the manager did take me over. The tire was pretty torn up on the wheel. I called AAA and they were there within 15 minutes. Have had AAA since 2005 and well worth the $112 per year we pay. Part of that covers our boat trailer when we are towing the boat. Peak: Since all tires on the Durango are Goodyear, they replaced the tire for $25 (Road Hazard cost). Thank God the rim on the flat wasn't ruined. The Goodyear we went to is the same one we bought all four tires from, get alignments and rotation done as well.
Since you have AAA, @Cody Fousnaugh , you should not have had to go anywhere to get your wife at all. I have the AAA app on my phone, and when I had engine trouble a few months back, I just messaged them on the app, and waited for the tow truck to come and take me home. It is SO much better and easier than having to call on the phone, be on hold, and all of that stuff we went through before. Once we had the app working, all of the information was right there, and the phone GPS told them exactly where to send the tow truck. I remember having to go out and look at street signs to tell where I was at sometimes, back in the old days of calling in for road help.
Triple A served me well a couple of times. Then I found out that my auto insurance included roadside assistance and towing so I dropped the extra charge.
I'll check that out, but I think I already have and they said "no". But, now that you've brought it up, my curiosity is going.
Funnily enough AA also means the same here for Alcoholics... we say go to AA ( alcoholics)...and call THE AA (auto)
No, we'd say ''The AA'' and everyone knows it's auto.... if we're referring to alcoholics anonymous we would say we're a member of ''AA""
Peak: it hit 70 F. for the first time today--actually, it was 71 F. No real pit. We are getting things re-arranged for a new refrigerator arriving on Sunday afternoon, and we are de-commissioning one of our freezers.
Pit: Suppose to have significant amount of rain today and this weekend. So much for outdoor stuff! Peak: It is Friday!! Tomorrow AM, we go out for nice breakfast and a little shopping...……..rain or no rain.
The pit of my day long story shortened it started yesterday morning when I went to pick up my new eyeglasses that I've been waiting on for over a week. I didn't notice it at the time of the fitting but when I got home and switched from old to new there was no tint on the lenses. I had to check my receipt again to see if I paid for a tint and yes I did. So now I have to take them back to have the tint applied.
Guess what...…….same exact thing happened to my wife last year. It's like when a person tells the cashier, "no catsup (or maybe mustard) on the burger" and, when the person gets home, there is catsup (or mustard) on the burger. It's like telling the cashier, "to go" and the food is put on a tray "for here". My wife distinctly asked for "tint" and it was written down, but when the lenses finally came in, they weren't tinted. I just don't get it!!
