USA on the way to being world champion again. Currently leading 2:0. Twenty minutes to go. Now they did it again. Congrats. Really well done indeed.
More professional athletes behaving badly. “The United States has become a place where entertainers and professional athletes are mistaken for people of importance.” -- Robert Heinlein
The "champions" are rejecting and invitation to the White House and appearing in the House of Representatives instead...with Nancy Pelosi....
When the one player grounded the American Flag for a photo op, I truly wished I was there but for my own sake, it is good that I wasn’t for indeed, my imagination is enough to get me into trouble if only with my creator. Professional sports has become the most popular arena for bashing one’s own country and I for one am finished with it! Every single player that has some major problem with the U.S. needs to go play for some other country but alas, the money, prestige and the freedom to be a perfect ungrateful idiot is here so a move to other pastures is non-negotiable.
Now, I do have to amend my last post to write that not ALL players are as crass and disrespectful as some of them. Kelly O’Hara, a player for the winning team did indeed rescue the flag that I mentioned and embraced it which according to the net, has made her the overall darling of the team to the general public.
Yes, it's a shame that we couldn't all just share a moment of pride in the team, but now they're just one more bunch of irrelevant haters for me to avoid. I hope they enjoy their meeting with AOC; birds of a feather and all that.
So their accomplishment was for naught because they won't meet with a man that they obviously despise? Well how American of you all! With the exception of the one that disrespected our flag,I am sure that they are all good citizens that are appreciative of their nation. Nothing is more American than protest. That they turn down an invitation from the president does not lessen their patriotism, it does not make them lessor citizens,it makes them Americans of free will, and strong enough character that they can express their distaste of the current administration. As someone on here is fond of saying,"I fought for the right to protest", but then accuses anyone that does of a lack of character and patriotism. Liberals are Americans!
Ah, if we’re getting back to what I wrote concerning your attack on not only a flag which openly supports our men and women in blue but on my wife (and I) you’d best go back and re-read the post. Typical of the liberal media, you search for words that were not written nor did you include the context in which the real words were composed. I wrote nothing about your character nor patriotism but now that you mention it, I do wonder about your character. You wrote once before that you were in the Marines. There is not one Marine whom I have ever met who would condone dropping the flag on the ground for a photo op or [in protest]. Combat soldiers are just a little more than cranky about the subject. Yes, it is their “right” to do so but I do not have to like it but you seem to take it in stride by saying “nothing is more American than protest”. Bottom line here is that when you wish to make a case, get the facts straight and then come out swinging with those facts and not something that comes wildly-nilly out of a somewhat questionable mind. Attempting to bend my words just to lighten the accusatory load you placed upon yourself is a little less than an intelligent move.
