Just back from a walk in the sunshine, feel invigorated this morning, I will now make a veggie cottage pie for dinner today and roll over for tomorrow, using Quorn mince and lots of vegetables with a potato topping. Here is a bit of warmth for you in your igloo Ike
Pink roses aren't exactly season appropriate but with the warm weather and lots of rain we've had this season, our cherry blossoms bloomed early and my daffodils are up about 10 inches…no blossoms yet. My snowdrops aren't blooming yet…they usually bloom first.
I remember when my dad came home from WW2, he brought home one of the leather sheepskin lined jackets. I wish I had one now.
Well, darn, I didn't win the powerball once again. But nobody else did either. I have a ticket for next Wednesday's 1.3 billion drawing. If I get to town before the drawing I think I'll invest in more tickets. The way the stock markets been going my chances in the lottery are probably just as good. Oh, by the way, GOOD MORNING EVERYONE.
Good morning everyone. I also slept well again. Sheldon, I'm going to buy $10 worth of tickets for Wednesday, I haven't checked my 2 to see if I won a smaller amount yet but I doubt it. I think if I did win the billion something wed. I'd have a heart attack and whoever found me would take the tickets clutched in my hands and it wouldn't be my kids. Probably best if I don't win. Lara, I still have a few roses blooming even with the colder temps we've had this year. Ike, I think 40 is too cold now days but when I lived in Chicago I remember -60 windchill days. I don't think I could go out in that anymore. Have a great day everyone.... Terry yours is going great!
That's so funny, because I was just looking for them there the other day! Good morning, y'all. The wind was pretty loud last night, banging everything around, and a cold front came through. It's just above freezing, so I'm glad I put extra provisions out for the strays. I haven't wrapped my pipes yet this year, although I do have towels over my plants. I just leave them like that all winter, and they get watered when it rains through the towels, but they seem sufficient to keep them from dying over the winter. I got the Christmas decorations down and downstairs vacuumed yesterday, then watched some movies, which was nice. I'm going to bake in a bit, talk to mom, then knock out some more chores, so I'll be ready for the new week. If the next few days are anything like today, I'll probably go for a walk. I don't like how crowded the trails and beach are on the weekends, so I usually wait until the weekdays to get my nature fix, other than on my balcony. I've started feeding the birds on my balcony again. I treat it for fleas now, and so far that seems to be keeping the problem at bay. The blue jays are greedy little suckers, but thankfully, I get some others as well. Cardinals are one of my favorite birds, and I've been seeing and hearing them quite a bit lately. Hope everyone has a great day!
Good Morning everyone.. Almost 6.30am and I'm just getting ready for work...pitch black and raining at the moment..but most of the day is forecast to be dry and cold!! My morning Moan is that my Back is hurting like the devil today...so I'll have to try and take things a lot easier for the next few days... ...hope you all have a wunnerful day whatever you're up to...
Good morning friends, sorry to hear about your back Holly, hope it improves during the day. It's a damp start but forecast to be dry later. Another Monday morning start of a new week, Have a good day whatever you are up to. I will get ready for the school run now.
Good morning you all. Got up at 2AM, wide awake and rarin' ,to go. Fell asleep at 8:30PM last night during "The son's of Katie Elder". Must have seen it a zillion times. Weekend TV usually sucks, with either much rerun old movies or newer movies with bad actors and lousy plots. Either that, or sports, which I hate. The good news is, it's warmer out today, at 10 above 0 degrees with a light breeze. The bad news is, I gotta do laundry. More good news. My cousin's wife got out of IC Saturday, after being there a week and nearly dying once. She's still in the hospital, but seems to be improving. So, here I am, waiting for the magic hour of 8AM, when we're allowed to use the laundry rooms. There are apartments next to the wash rooms and if we fire up the machines too early, it disturbs those living in them. Ahhh, the joys of apartment building life. That brings to mind an episode of the TV show "Frasier". Daphne, Frasier's maid, was having trouble with some other tenant's laundry habits. When she saw him washing a load of white clothing, she slipped a red pair of her panties in. His whites became his pinks. That reminds me, I have a cute little pair of red panties, a "gift" from someone I knew long ago. Don't know why I kept them this long. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has some odd souvenir from better days. So, behave yourselves. If you can't behave, pray for a cell by yourself.
They have plenty of faux ones, as well, @Ike Willis and they might be less costly. Good Afternoon, y'all! It started out beautiful, but then dark clouds overtook the sky. Those have moved on, and it's brightened up somewhat again. I thought for sure we were in for some storms, but it looks as if we escaped them for the day. It's been a pretty productive day, but of course there's always lots more to do. I hope everyone's having a nice day!
