Scholars agree Jesus spoke Aramaic. One would have to establish his mothers heritage and nationality to determine his. His father according to the bible was from a super power coming from the heavens and inseminating his mother. Sounds like an alien (not of this world) abduction to me or she was covering for her child after being raped or had relations that could have led to her being killed or in exile for life. Maybe Herod should be suspect for rape as he wanted the child killed. Jesus was tiring of carpentry work and disappeared for many years and honed his "heavenly" birthright skills in the supernatural. He came back with a message that made people angry, especially those in power. He called the judgmental, sinners. He really po'ed people to the point of being murdered in a most horrible way. @Holly Saunders yes, in Spain and Mexico, Jesus is common, especially in Andalusia among the Gitano. My dad nicknamed me Jesetta (Hay zet a) because I had a way of making people angry when discussing religion, politics, or finances. My mother always told me try to be more like Jesus in constructive ways. I tried walking on water and almost drown so I took up windsurfing which pleased her, but only in cool weather when I had to wear a full wet suit and not too tight. She disliked my bikini ways but never condemned me. She believed a woman should cover her body in public, including arms and legs, but never her face. I quoted the constitution 2nd amendment about my right to bare arms. She was patriotic and conceded that point, but I had to concede that baring my legs was not a protected right but a privilege women have in free countries.

Of course Setenil de Las Bodegas is in Cadiz, very much further s/w than the Malaga region where my daughter lives or Granada much further up.... It's a typical Spanish mountainous white village much like the village closest to my daughter , and hundreds of other white villages all over Spain..what makes Setenil de Las Bodegas a little different is that much of it was built into the mountains rather than ON , so you have lots of very pretty cliff overhangs in Bodegas and shops... :D

We're in Andalucia at least a couple of times a year , and we know all of it very well even the most remote villages like my daughters' , a places like Lanjaron, on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains which is famous world wide for spring water, but is an incredibly tiny village right high up in the mountains where the streets are so narrow each side of your car hits the walls of some streets (and that's really saying something in a country whose villages all have streets which are tiny) ..but they are all lovely in their own way...

To me, it does not matter as long as his teachings and ideals reflect the goodness in man.

Whatever is born of the flesh (man) , is flesh, and profits nothing. (i.e. normal man, normal flesh 'not good' for anything)

The only goodness to seek, to hope for, to find out about, is from the Father in heaven and His Plan , Jesus, for Salvation.

Josephus was a well-known and trusted secular historian, who gave this account:

About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he was one who performed surprising deeds and was a teacher of such people as accept the truth gladly. He won over many Jews and many of the Greeks. He was the Messiah. And when, upon the accusation of the principal men among us, Pilate had condemned him to a cross, those who had first come to love him did not cease. He appeared to them spending a third day restored to life, for the prophets of God had foretold these things and a thousand other marvels about him. And the tribe of the Christians, so called after him, has still to this day not disappeared.

    - Jewish Antiquities, 18.3.3 §63
(Based on the translation of Louis H. Feldman, The Loeb Classical Library.)
