Chrissy, So sorry to hear about your mom. Like @Bonnie Thomas I went through a period of multiple losses in a short amount of time, and it really can change your world view/outlook on life. I hope she stabilizes and improves. I said Ike's prayer for her and you both. Good Morning, Y'all. It's a very sunny day. The ground fog is burning off, and the hot sun on the neighbor's shed roof had me a bit concerned. The heat on the cold roof was setting off steam, and I wasn't sure exactly what it was at first. The birds were up and about early, so I had to rush to get their food out. I had a beautiful Cardinal couple, but then a Blue Jay showed up and they left before I could get decent pictures. I was able to snap this one of the male Cardinal through the window. Hope everyone has a good day.
My thoughts are with you Chrissy, I know how worrying it can be when you are so far away from a loved one that it's impossible to be with them, in their hour of need. Even though losing your parents is inevitable it's more of a shock, when like your mom they have been healthy all their lives, then suddenly they deteriorate so rapidly. I do hope the news about this latest setback is good and you manage to see your mom before the inevitable happens. Take care
Thanks, Terry. Yes, I would love the opportunity to see her a last time. I did have a visit planned in a few months to see her, hope I still can.
omg!!!! so sorry @Chrissy Page , how terrifying for you, but how very thankful you must be that your B-I-L was right on hand to give her CPR... however, it does sound like she's taken a huge relapse, and that's tragic when you thought she was improving...how old is she Chrissy?..
Thanks, Holly! She's 83 and all I know right now is that she's on a ventilator and sedated and in ICU. They don't think it was cardiac but something with her failing lungs and that's all the information so far. Yes, she would be dead if my sister or BIL werent around. She wasn't feeling well and called up to them...she has a buzzer and they came downstairs and Matt took her vitals and they were good. My sister sat there with her and she kept dozing off and something made my sister try to wake her and she couldn't so she called her husband back down, he didn't get a pulse so my sister called 911 and he did CPR. I'm praying she makes it!
Just a quick update on my meeting with my orthopaedic surgeon today. Long story short, they don't think ( and I agree) that it's worth doing any more procedures on my bi-lateral lumber disc re-herniation in the foreseeable future...instead they're going to refer me to a Pain management clinic..I'm not exactly sure how they'll be able to help given that I already have physiotherapy every week..know all the back and lumber exercises to follow..and take the meds I'm supposed to...but hey, if they can help, bring it on!! It's just past 8.30pm here...freezing cold outside...hubs has just called from work, his key fob won't open his car to allow him to come home, he's trying everything to get it fixed, but there's a possibility if he can't (and he knows just about everything about cars) I'll have to go and pick him up ...a 40 mile round trip, while he leaves his car at work and calls the AA in tomorrow morning to fix it..just waiting now for his call...I really hope I don't have to go out...but I've got my woolly draws on just in case...
All I can say is...that sucks!! Hope they alleviate your back pain though but if you've pretty much tried everything I wonder what they can do? It's all worth a try though....good luck! Hope hubby can start his car also.
I'm baaaaack!!! Just as I posted the last thread about picking hubs up..the phone rang and he couldn't get the car started..so I had to go out and get him and I swear to you, that is precisely the time the heavens opened and it lashed down the whole way into London 40 miserable miles in buckets.. my wipers going full speed, hardly able to see on the motorway for spray and rain.. and yet still some lunatics driving at wayyy over the speed limit..it beggars belief.! Anyway we got back about 20 minutes ago, he's called the AA to go and fix the car tomorrow morning at his car park at work..and now I have to get up tomorrow morning at 5am on my day off, and drive him back to work again...oooh I really can't wait.........what joy and fun....and no before anyone says it..I promise you he wouldn't do the same for me..he'd just tell me to get a cab!!
Thanks, Shirley! Poor Holly....you're a good wife. There are some things I wouldn't do and that would be one of them....driving at night in rain...no way. Don't see well at night and never did.
Good Morning folks.... Just turned 5.45 am and waiting for Hubs to get out of the shower..and then I have to take him to work cuz his car wouldn't start last night and I had to go and collect him 9pm...a 40 mile round trip into London.. It's pitch dark this morning and of course it's raining hard...it would be wouldn't it? This morning he's got the AA coming to it, apparently the electric key fob isn't working, but when he used the key to open the door instead , of course all the alarms and hazzards when on, so he couldn't drive it like that. ...but it still means I've lost out on my lie in on my day off *booooo****.....I think this deserves lots of chocolate cake reward for me paid for by him LOL
Good Morning from a damp dark and cold Worcester, I have some business paperwork to do and I need to organise things for my upcoming vacation in Sri Lanka next Monday. I hope you all have a good fulfilling day and for you Holly some calorie free chocolates to make up for your rude awakening this morning
