@Bess Barber I guess that goes to the unexplained category. I think sometimes we can obtain opinions and character types of people by their color choices.

Doesn't the effect that colors have on us change in the course of time? And don't we tend to have different favorite colors when it comes to clothing and home decoration?

I have the walls of my rooms painted in pale lemon, the furniture in all rooms including the kitchen and the bathrooms is predominantly white with some touches of gray here and there. The floor tiles are of a pale fawn color.

This is what I like at the age of 60+ . I definitely wouldn't and, in fact, didn't furnish and decorate my rooms this way in my 20s or 30s. There used to be more expressive colors and, above all, there were the problems of an economy of scarcity that forced you to make do with too many things and, up until the early ninties, there was also a painful lack of money and no "connections". All that did have an impact on the lifestyle for it was not just a question of personal taste and preferences. The main reason why I gravitated towards white as the primary color was and is that I like bright rooms. That's the most important thing. And they are bright now. :D Other pops of color come from decorations and visible content of furniture.

When it comes to casual wear I have a wide range of colors that I wear depending, except for trousers which are always different shades of blue, grey, fawn, maybe a dark khaki green in winter, and black.

As for the color of my cars I'm flexible. I have never paid anything extra for the color (ca. $500), which you have to where I live if you want your (new) car to have a preferred color. I always coached myself to come to terms with the color that was. I've had two blue ones, a red one, a black one and my current car is "titanium grey".

PS: Kept writing "color" and used "grey" only once out of consideration for the majority of readers. :D

    Gerrouta here it's COLOUR :p;):D

I've had so many different colour cars. Various blues , Black, white, shades of reds, Maroon, Cream, ...I currently have a Black car, previous one was royal blue... but I wish I'd never bought the Black, it shows up every little bit of dust or dirt!
