    Well, even so it didn't hurt too much, you still should be careful not to strain it further. Back problems are really annoying because they limit the ability to get all the things a person needs to get done.

    @Bobby Cole Hope you didn't spend too much time on that. It's not a word ANY of us would probably ever use. :p

    My daughter went to the emergency room last night with sharp stomach pains which has been going on for a few days. She was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I now know about a new illness. She is only 28, she will recover quickly. She even went to work today.

    This is a common-enough issue, I think usually found later in life. DiverticULA are tiny pockets in the intestinal wall, DiverticuLOSIS is their presence, and DiverticuLITIS is the condition, when Diverticula are present, wherein the pockets become inflamed, often containing digested material unable to escape. The latter is bad, no getting around it. Polyps, which are the opposite, tiny protrusions intruding within the intestine are easily removed.

    Either are easily seen during colonoscopy. However, diverticula are usually not removable, and are generally the more risk-prone. Not intending to frighten you, please be aware. It is always best to know and understand as much as possible. Recall the sign we all learned many years ago: any continuing irritation is one cause for cancer; remains of digested food dragging over polyps, or becoming lodged in diverticula, is not something to be taken lightly, or ignored.

    It pays to be curious.

    As we were walking in the park I noticed a blackbird perched on the rim of a trash barrel. Next thing was the bird dropped down into the barrel probably to eat what it saw.

    Being curious I went over to the barrel to see what food was there. What I saw was the bird unable to get back out.

    I tilted the barrel & the bird escaped.

    @Frank Sanoica Thanks! They actually gave her lots of tests for other things and found the polyps after a PET scan or something. She was there for 9 hours!! The medication was really expensive. She is quite young to have this, but she had emergency gallbladder surgery when she was just 24. I don't know if one has anything to do with the other. Unfortunately, she didn't ask them too many questions and says she is feeling fine. It's funny how we see these things differently when we are in our 20's.

    I would have to ask her the exact name, but it was in the penicillin family, just odd name. I originally thought amoxicillin, but that shouldn't have been expensive at Publix (Grocery Pharmacy). It was expected to be expensive enough until the doctor gave her a coupon from the manufacturer putting a cap on the price. I'll get the name from her tomorrow.

    @Bess Barber

    In our youth, it is said, we feel invincible. Then, stricken, we fall deeply, unable to believe it. Our friend in Indiana, Vonda, had gall bladder surgery, got sicker yet, over the following year, treated almost constantly, her body weight dropped from about 140 to 95 lbs. She nearly died. The doctors never seem to be absolutely certain, and maybe they only are now and then.

    Glad your girl is doing OK!

    I don't know if the doctor's help with the cost made a difference. There is a generic version that sells for about $13.50 for 20 tablets for that 875-125 strength. The generic is made by a brand name manufacturer.

    I learned today that there are well over 100 people that have been in prison for decades awaiting the completion of their death sentence conviction.That makes no sense. Kill them or release them.
