The Dining Room has very nice Menu Binders on each table but earlier in the week the residents are furnished with the weeks lunch & dinner offerings on a printed sheet. I am looking at mine now and will decide on either the Honey Dijon Chicken Thighs with Roasted Red Potatoes or the Ciopino. I think I will go with the Ciopino and take a bottle of my own white wine. I see also that the desert is StrawberryRhubarb Pie. It will be another two hours before I go to dinner so I will have a glass or two of wine and watch the news until then. BON APETIT
The Assisted Living Bus took ten of us and our walkers to SAL's for a Mexican lunch. Oakmont will have a couple of scheduled lunches at one of the local eateries each month. I'ts nice to get away for a couple hours an enjoy a change of scenery. I'm exhausted from my little trip and will now take a brief nap.
It is good to get out especially in the winter. I recently joined our local county run senior center where a hot meal is served Monday to Friday. Problem is I'm having some trouble getting out of the rut I've been in so have to start a new one.
@Lon Tanner My parents are currently making a final decision where they would choose to go if needed. They are now in their 80's. They can take care of each other, but once that isn't an option, they want the family to be aware of their decisions. I felt more informed speaking to them about this after all your informative posts. Before I met you on here, I really didn't know that much about anything but nursing homes which I wouldn't want them to ever be in. The current price at the one they have chosen is $4300 per month. This is less than you are paying, but California is more expensive. I told them you liked your place, was treated well and had privacy. This was important to them. So, thanks again!!
