It's cool-ish overnight but mild days. Supposed to get down into the 40's again by Friday. So it's a/c one day, furnace the next.
55 mornings, 82 afternoons, maximum sun. This will likely remain typical throughout November. Relative Humidity has ranged between 5% and 15%; the Dew Point has been BELOW ZERO quite a bit! Frank
During some of our cold spells, will go down to -35c, night, -20 to -25, daytime. My heat bill since moving to town has been as high as 250.00. Some of you must have high energy bills for air conditioning.
Actually, that is a lot lower than I thought it would be. You are right, the average house 1500 sq ft, will run closer to $300 - $350 for AC. That includes water and sewer, but it's still a high amount.
The 250.00 per month does not include water, water is around 100.00 every third month. I'm lucky, the house is well insulated, there's an attached garage on the north side of the house, helps break the wind and cold, the house is around 1200 sq ft, finished basement. Making a long story even longer,....we had top of the line windows and doors, Polar Windows, built with Canada winters in mind installed in the house on the farm, very impressed. Bought my house in town Jan. 2016, had the windows and doors replaced with Polar Windows summer of 2017, again, very impressed. Had a pet cushion on a table in the front window at the farm for several years, absolutely no fading with the polar window. Had that same pet cushion in the front window in my house in town, from Jan 2016 to summer of 2017, the cushion faded to almost no colour left. Since the Polar installation, since summer 2017 to now, the new pet cushion since then, no fading at all. The outside noise is almost zero. All said and done, heat bills are very manageable, AC bills are too. Are you bored yet with my story. .
@Bess Barber During the deathful heat here of summer, our electric power bill has never reached $100. Use of evaporative coolers (2, one in the shop) saves a TON of money. Oct. 2019 bill was $47. Our water is supplied by a private water company, Bermuda Water, which has an office in Maine! Trash collection is by private co. also, they provide a BIG, wheeled plastic dumpster, pick up once a week, $30 per 2 months. Frank
@Beth Gallagher Actually, we lucked out here by accident. Having spent 2 winters here first in a rented condo, we easily perceived that things such as electricity were most reasonably priced. The data below appeared in our local newspaper, well after we moved here. We actually live outside the City Limits, in unincorporated Camp Mohave. Bullhead City still most affordable city in Arizona "The 2018 Cost-of-Living Index Annual Average Data first quarter report recognized Bullhead City as the most affordable city in Arizona and one of the most affordable cities in the southern United States." "A city’s composite index is made up of six components; grocery items, housing, utilities, transportation, health care and miscellaneous goods and services." "The breakdown of the six components for the City of Bullhead City is 79.2 percent for housing costs, 88.7 percent for utilities costs, 101 percent for transportation costs, 94.2 percent for healthcare, 102.5 percent for grocery items and 87.9 percent for miscellaneous goods and services. When compared to the other six Arizona cities that participated, Bullhead City is the lowest in utilities, healthcare and miscellaneous goods and services."
