    I hope all goes well for you, Frank. I assume they ruled out heart problems? I know that a heart attack causes shortness of breath, and congestive heart failure is caused from too much fluid... so I hope they are covering all those possibilities. Good luck to you.

    Frank, do you use the inhaler a lot ? Just wondered if there was a connection with that, may not agree with you
    Thinking of you and hoping for a good outcome and that it be just one of those things, never to recur

    I was amazed in the Doctor's office the little thingy they stuck on my finger (oximeter?) read out 100%. Usually was always in the mid 90s.

    I have not used the inhaler in nearly 10 years, just this once to see if the bronchioles were closing up. They weren't. Frank

    The heart thing has not been explored. Since I have never experienced angina of any kind, I guess heart failure is down on the list. Maybe shouldn't be. I will inquire of the Doc! Thanks!

    Well, the oxygen level at 90-100% is great news Frank! Any possibility your machine work may have produced some toxic fumes? Any aluminum turning, sanding, etc? Any work around lead? Anything different in the last few months? It might be a good idea to get a liver scan if this continues and your lungs are fine. It could also be a virus. There are some weird virus. Hope you find out or better yet it never happens again.

    @Frank Sanoica It seems like these could be symptoms of any number of things. I know it's frustrating to have to wait on all the tests to be run before you can get a diagnosis. I wish I lived closer. I would come cook and clean for you and your wife so you two could just relax and focus on getting you well. Take it easy until you find out and remember that everyone on here really cares about you.

    Nope. My combined Chol. is consistently right around 200, sometimes a bit less, usually ~ 210. I would not take a Statin under any circumstaces. The only prescribed med I take is Bisoprolol (Ziac) for B.P., 1 tab. daily., 5mg.

    @Faye Fox

    Today I started Spironolactone; tomorrow morning I see the Doc. We were both so sure of liv er-caused symptoms, we did not consider the heart then, last week. We are now pretty certain after seeing the blood results, my liver is normal. That leaves Congestive Heart Failure, which can be thought of as circulatory insufficiency. Caused mechanically by the heart being unable to deliver the needed additional blood flow called for by exertion. I think an Echocardiogram will be a good idea; it may pinpoint the cause, heart valve, ventricular problem, etc. Spironolactone carries certain negatives, dizziness being one; I certainly need no additional dizziness. I do need to get rid of the excess water. My legs are nearly twice as thick as normal! So, while the present trouble, breathing difficulty, came up quite suddenly, the root problem may have been building slowly for years.

    I never dreamed of heart trouble.......

    @Frank Sanoica I sure hope you find the problem. My best friend has a similar problem to you and has for years. She has had extensive test on the heart and lungs. They found nothing! I have a problem with my heart pounding at times and shortness of breath, mainly if I am working with my head bend forward. This is why I have given up my woodworking and hobbies. Test show nothing! Docs say it must have something to do with my nerve problem. The heart is a muscle and muscles do operate by nerve signals. I found deep breathing and Tai Chi helps with a lot of walking. Are you a deep or shallow breather? I tend to be shallow and have to purposely force deep breathing.
