For the past 50 years I have had a wooden cross of Jesus over my bed
Suddenly, it occurred to me that I didn't like the idea of it. Why would I want to see him suffering ….
So I looked for something to replace it. I found 'birds on a wire', the birds are formed out of wire and
they rest on a wire branch - its just lovely.
I like to adorn my walls with nice unusual things, do you - have you a favourite piece ?

BTW, hubby gets his tools ready to do the job of hanging the birdies, when before his very eyes
I hang them on the existing panel pin - he was impressed ! :p :p

Our wall adornments are mostly the Western type, including rodeo, the old Western tv shows, Star Wars stuff, pictures of tigers and mountain wildlife. In Florida, we had (note the word, "had") pictures of boat docks and lighthouses. Got rid of all Florida stuff!

Other people choose to live in a house they like, I choose a house based on it having adequate art wall space. I have no idea how many are in my house. I have 3 big mermaids just in the bathroom. It does help when you can paint your own though. :D
It's also nice to see them in other people's houses.
In addition, I have a gold embroidered Jewish prayer shawl hung like a tapestry.

I have never understood why anybody would want to have a picture of Jesus on the cross hanging on their wall.

I have original paintings done by friends on my office walls. I have a very long wall in the den (Family room). I have family pictures hanging on that. DH and I, my three children when they were babies, the a little older, then as adults. Then oldest son with DIL and their two children, then youngest son and DIL.

Probably because you weren't raised Catholic.
Since I'm Jewish.......I don't have one on my wall either. :p
OK, kidding. I'm a Messianic Jew. We believe Jesus was/is the Messiah.

Funny, Bess, I was just going to tell Shirley that Catholic's do that.

We aren't Catholic's, but do have a picture of Jesus on the Cross and Bible verse below "For God so loved the world...………….

Mine are some different, I had 2 fav uncles Jim & Hans I have the last 2 shell casings Jim fired, about 4" dia he fired in WW1 engraved as to the date time and target he fired them at, use them for umbrella holders by my doors, he fired them against German targets. On the other side of the coin I have the inspection tags of the last 2 torpedo's Hans fired at Allied targets, written on them the date, time, place and target. Some oil paintings dad brought back on my walls also.

I know ! It seemed to be tradition in Catholic households but I suddenly realised it was not comforting at all to look at
in fact, I never looked at it, it was just there. I couldn't dispose of it though, its just out of sight

The walls in my living room display my collection of wrought iron. I never tire of looking at them. In my kitchen and dining room I have pic of bakers and chefs. Johnny was a Navy cook/chef and even though he doesn't cook any longer it was a time of his life I enjoyed hearing about.

    I
I have no idea. If there was is a way to identify the makers I would proudly give them props for their imagination and work.

These all were found through many years of browsing thrift stores, flea markets, rummage/garage/tag/yard/estate sales.
