Gee, wouldn't it be nice-to-great if ALL families got along and were able to "financially" celebrate the Christmas Holiday together?
@Lois Winters So happy you're at your son's. Enjoy. What a beautiful melody Holly found for you. So warming to the heart.
Was sunny this morning, but now at 2.30 it's become really dull and rain is on it's way.. forecast is for 2 weeks of rain in 24 hours!!
Good Morning all. Well I wound up in the hospital last evening to receive 5 stitches in my left forefinger. I was preparing a salad for dinner and had just finished washing the knife I had chopped the garlic with. In the process of drying the knife, it slipped and nearly sliced my finger off. My son nearly fainted at the sight of all the blood and I thought I'd have to call an ambulance, but he was able to pull himself together and drive me. It's my left hand and I am left handed. Even tough typing due to the bandage.
Oh my gosh ! ! That makes me cringe, just reading about it, @Lois Winters . Not a fun way to start the holidays out, either. I am ambidextrous, so some things I do left-handed (like writing) and some things I do right-handed (crochet and shoot a gun), and some things with either hand. But not being able to use one of your hands is a definite drawback, so hoping that it gets better soon. Looking on the bright side....... maybe someone else will have to do all of the Christmas cooking instead of you, now that you are “wounded and incapacitated” for the next week or so ? You can always say that some people will do anything to get out of cooking !
OMG... poor you Lois, wow !! what a fright!! ..thank goodness somebody was there to drive you to the hospital..typical tho' that it would happen at Christmas..
How I wish that were true. I am the only one who has any know how when it comes to cooking, Yvonne. Cousin Kathy was absolutely panicky over this. Not to worry, I am very good at giving instructions. I already have son Liam doing the laundry. Onward, ho! I was an Air Force Officer.
Our family became fractured decades ago over a petty jealousy. My brother and I and our two female cousins had such great Christmas' when we were children but nothing, zilch between us come December 25 after he rift. As kids we did not understand why suddenly we were not no longer allowed to socialize with our cousins. It was only after the death of my uncle that the reason was revealed. All those wasted years over something that needed to be resolved far earlier by so call adults. Sorry if this puts a dampener on this happy time of the year.
