Joe can you believe that a plain cup of coffee was $2.50 at the VA? I admit it was good coffee, which is generally the opposite in most places such as hospitals, but at that cost it can get expensive. I'm going to need a coffee fairy at about 5:am on the mornings I volunteer. This one looks available.

Well friends I tried decaf coffee for almost two weeks, and yuckkkk. I guess a little devil has me, so I had to go back to regular coffee. So set'm up Joe.
We have a Barberry bush in our yard, that had a couple small nests in, that I had removed. Then I noticed a couple small wrens or sparrows hanging out in the bush. I figured maybe they were a late batch, and got confused by the warm weather, and never got to leave. So I put up a bird feeder with Sunflower seeds. They and their friends, all gather in the bush. Last Saturday morning, I looked out to check the bird feeder, and there was a Whitetail deer laying in the yard, 20 foot away. It was a spike, and still alive. It's one leg or hip was broken and it couldn't walk. I also noticed a broken rail, on the split rail fence at the road. The deer had plowed through the fence, tearing off a spike and injuring itself. I don't know if a car was involved, but I think not. I called the non-emergency number of the police and within a half hour an Officer arrived, and put it down. The PA Game Commission truck picked it up within the next hour. It was mild out, so I went to Lowes, and picked up a new railing for the fence, then replaced the broken one and stained the new one. And yesterday evening around 3:30, I looked out to check the bird feeder, and noticed black clouds in the sky, moving by the house. Then I realized that it was black smoke. Checking at he bend, I saw that our neighbor's hay barn was on fire. It is about a half a mile up the road. I called 911, kept an eye on traffic, til the Fire Police came, to divert the cars. I got my camera and took a few pictures from our place. The fire engines were arriving soI went back in the house. The barn was totaled. Oh, yeah, later that night, we got a little snow (around 3 inches).
Things are slow, today! Everyone's digging out, and must have stocked up on coffee & Donuts, before the storm! It's time for the Snowblower Polka!
