Supper tonight will be my own homemade spaghetti sauce with minced chicken.. Spaghetti squash will be the pasta like................ Not real pasta as it contains flour.. We don't eat real pasta...
Allot of Aussie’s have zucchini noodles in place of pasta, I’ve never made them however they are cheaper this week down from $9 kg to $2 kg so I might just try making zucchini noodles
I have never tried zucchini noodles either but I have heard of them... Do they contain flour in the ingredients ?? If not, go for them.. If yes, pass...
I was thinking about supper tonight and I came up with .... Its fish time again...... We eat fish at least 3 times a week.. Fillets of something in the freezer.. I cook my fish usually on the stovetop...
Veggies for tonight with the fish will be sliced and steamed carrots and parsnips, mashed with butter and chives.. Dessert... I made a surprise dessert.. I put in the bottom of a small bowl half a stewed peach and covered it up with a spiked vanilla pudding so you can't see the peach.. Pot of tea...
Looks like I will be making a BBQ for supper... I took out some chicken drums to BBQ.. Looks like some coleslaw as the veggie.. Looks like some raspberry youcheese for dessert.. Pot of tea for sure..
A zucchini noodle only has the zucchini in it, @Steve North . They have little devices called a “spiralizer” and when you twist the veggie in it, it comes out like long spaghetti strings. There are different type of spiralizers. Some are small, hand-held ones, some are larger, and with a handle to turn to put the veggie through the spiralizer blade. I have one of the little ones for when I just want to spiralize up a quick zucchini or carrot, but I also have a larger eclectic one , called a Veggie-Bullet, and it is great if you want to make larger quantities. The spiralized zucchini tastes about like the spaghetti squash noodles, but only takes 1-2 minutes to cook because it is already cut into the spaghetti strips. This is one of the small hand-held ones, but if you google spriralizer, you can see that there are a lot of different kinds and sizes.
One of these small ones doesn’t cost much at all, and it is handy when you just want to chop or spiralize a few things. This one has 3 different spiralizer blade, plus has 2 graters and 2 juicing tops, and with the little container, you don’t have to worry about cleaning up little bits of grated carrots (or whatever).
Honestly, I have so many kitchen gadgets as is that I hardly use, so I think I will pass on this one that I won't use very often...
I have a Braun food processor with all the attachments, a blender, a machine that takes veggies and makes a juice, a machine that takes frozen fruit and makes like an ice cream, 2 slow cookers, one a 4 quart and one a 6 quart, 2 yogurt makers, a waffle maker, a sandwich maker, a toaster, a crepe maker, a George Foreman grill, a coffee grinder, a spice grinder, 2 hand held blenders, a mix master, 2 electric kettles, an electric knife, 2 coffee percolates, a Tassimo coffee machine.......... just to name what I have... I may of forgotten something.. I don't have any more space to have another item...... NO JOKE !!! ... We have a small house to begin with.. May have to keep some items under our bed if this continues..... All of these items are stored in the laundry room on shelving.. NO more room in there... If one more item comes in, something must go out..
Supper tonight was a vegetable casserole with some tuna in it.. I love those one dish meals.. Stewed peaches with heavy cream for dessert.. Pot of tea..
Supper tonight was fillets of salmon.. Steamed broccoli.. Stewed peach halves with heavy cream Pot of tea...
Friday...……… We are off to Sudbury for the day which means a trip to Wallmart.. I will be buying a BBQ chicken and it will most likely be our supper... Why not pick-up a Caesar salad kit bag at the same time and have it with the chicken..
