Just coffee for breakfast because of having a scheduled PET SCAN at 12:15 PM The Cancer Care Center was on full alert and was testing all entrants and sanitizing them. Came back to Assisted Living and had the Chicken Pot Pie lunch that had been brought to my apartment that I had selected the day before. There is no social activity going on nor will there be until this virus thing is slowed down. Residents will have to amuse themselves by reading or watching TV. Those of us that have computers and I Phones have more opportunities to interact with others. My dinner, which I selected yesterday will be brought to my apartment around 7 PM. I will spend my evening watching NetFlix until I go to bed around 10 PM. Tomorrow morning I will see my Dermatologist for a skin cancer treatment and have another exciting day
Sheltering in place? Do you mean for the virus? Not exactly, but almost. Other than driving to Bangor a few days ago, spending the night in a hotel, I haven't been going out much. Even in Bangor, we went to a restaurant in the evening and again the next morning, as they were still open then, but we didn't go anywhere else where there were people. I mostly stay in the house, although I do go for a walk at least once a day. Given that I am the only person walking, I don't think this puts me at any risk, or anyone else. My wife's recovery center is closed for a couple of weeks, so we're both pretty much here now, although she looks for every excuse to go out. I don't think there's a store within a fifty-mile radius that she hasn't visited, although we don't really need anything.
I haven't changed much, because I usually only go out for groceries anyway, except maybe a couple of trips to Lowe's or Tractor Supply in the last 3 months. Maybe fewer trips to the grocery now. Shorter hours may force people (at least me) to be in a more crowded situation at the grocery stores, because I always try to avoid busy times anyway. Do the hand washing and distance thing now, which I paid no attention to before. Had decided to attend a dinner next week that has been scheduled for a month. Changed my mind on that. They will probably cancel it anyway. That'll teach me to try to get out of a rut. lol
We've gone to a couple of local grocery stores, but try very hard to do the "get and go" thing. IOW, shop as fast as we can and get out. One or both of us, will walk down to our mailbox and get the mail. Other than those to outings, during the winter months, even when we lived in northeastern Florida, we didn't-don't go out much. Summertime is our time to play! Winter doesn't mean we stay in all of the time, but go out a whole lot less than during the summer. We are both "social butterflies" and not.
Many states now have stores that have an hour or so for seniors only. I believe that it's at the beginning of the day.
I ordered a few things to be delivered from a market I always use. They were to have delivered yesterday late afternoon but so far no delivery or explanation.
Yes, and now I find out that there is a case of the virus in one of our sister facilities in our county. These directors and coordinators are constantly getting together and having meetings, so I am a bit unhappy at this news. I wouldn't have known had not my son called me an told me he received a letter informing him of this. What, they cannot talk to me?
