I like a dark coffee once in a while.

It's late and I'm more drained than I thought. More tomorrow. G'night. :)

Yes, I do. I go shopping, lunch with friends, visit with my son and occasional cocktails down the shore.

    Well Lois I am very sorry that you are being quarantined but, keep in mind, they are only trying to keep you all safe. It's very important right now. I will try to come visit you on here every day if that will help. {{Hugs}}

Unfortunately. since it was brought in by staff members, we are now getting sick. So it goes. But, I appreciate your visits, Marci. It is good to chat with people outside. I take the dog out and thankfully we are have some fairly decent weather. Good to fill my body with fresh air.

I have 2 cups of Folgers Mountain Grown coffee per week:

First cup after breakfast on Saturday.

Second cup after breakfast on Sunday.

    Never with food...only afterward.

I'm the same way. But it wasn't just one or 2 cups of coffee, I would "chain drink" coffee all day long, for decades. More of a busy habit. I guess I just got tired of it.

Tried tea about 3 years ago. Coffee seems to leave an aftertaste in your mouth, and worse if you use creamer. The tea doesn't. Hard to describe. I think the word is slightly "astringent." Not bitter, but a clean feeling, with artificial sweetener and no cream.

I tried to go back to coffee, bought better coffee, even ground the beans. I'm not fussy enough to notice the difference, and tea is easier. I only drink a cup of coffee occasionally now with something really sweet, like candy, or donuts, or dunking cookies. The sweetener in the tea also satisfies my sweet tooth.

Maybe pods are the way to go now. But I don't like the idea of another gadget to sit on the counter. I don't have much counter space as it is. LOL

It's time to try another new coffee, although I have another bag (my third) of Silencer Smooth coming. I don't think I've tried this one yet, from Fresh Roasted Coffee LLC, it's known as Fog Kicker, which suggests something strong, but it's labeled mild body, light roast, so I thought I'd give it a try. I bought a two-pound bag so it if't not great, I can use it as a base to mix with other coffees. I haven't tried it yet but I am about to brew up a pot of it.

It smells good, as a pot is brewing right now. When I first try a new blend, I drink it straight. Then I decide whether it needs a pinch or two of chicory, or whether I want to mix it with another blend. I don't mix anything with Silencer Smooth, as it's perfect as it comes.

    Later...

Well, it's not Silencer Smooth but it isn't overly strong. It's kind of a basic coffee, better than any of the grocery brands, but it doesn't stand out in a large way. So far, I'm thinking that if it's cheaper than some of the others, I might buy it again, but I'll probably mix it with another blend. Sometimes my opinions change after I've been drinking it a while and, so far, I've only had a few sips.

    Hey Mr. Anderson...

Is that Avatar a picture of you as a young man? If so, it looks like you're about to bust someone in the mouth.

    Good looking kid, though!

Yeah, I was probably in my 20s. I don't remember the situation. Yeah, I do look like kind of a jerk.

There's only one coffee, for me, and it's decaffeinated: Ethiopian Sidamo. Amazing body, amazing flavor, from the land where the drinking of coffee was first tried, as legend has it.

Another new one. Made by Bulletproof, it's a light-roast, whole-bean coffee known as Luminate. Someone here, or maybe another coffee thread, mentioned something about putting butter in their coffee and I thought that seemed like a strange idea. I still do, but they suggest preparing the coffee that way on the package. I'm thinking it'll be okay without the butter. The other thing that has me worried is that the package brags that they take a science-based approach to coffee, and I think I'd rather take a natural approach to coffee. At least I only bought 12 ounces of the stuff. It's an Arabica coffee so it'll probably be drinkable.

Okay, the Luminate coffee is okay, but just okay. If it were to be served in a restaurant, I would consider the coffee to be good, but that's only because I rarely find restaurant coffee to be good. While there's nothing wrong with it, there's not a lot that's right about it either. Maybe I can add a touch of cinnamon or something to it that would take it a notch or two above so-so. I'll certainly drink it but I probably won't order it again.

I finally saw Community Coffee listed with the others on my online grocery store site. Even pods! But they were ship only.
