The Puerto Plata D.R. had to punish the people for showing some freedom they had a guy carrying a cross went to the beach for prayer a few hundred showed up. This caused the dictatorship lead by the medical/media had the city shut down a city of 130,000 people for a week. No one can enter or leave

Hotspot in Georgia, Dougherty County (Albany), has now surpassed Fulton County (Atlanta) in number of deaths.

    Dougherty (pop 89,000): . 118 deaths;. 291 hospitalizations
    Fulton (pop 1.1 million): . 108 deaths;. 502 hospitalizations

I think the important statistics now may be deaths and hospitalizations per capita, because the testing is fudge-able. If a state wants to hold its number of cases down, just make it difficult to do a lot of testing. Then it can pass the "decreasing cases for 14 days straight" .guidelines for opening.

I read every day the number of U.S. deaths. Details are sketchy at best. From what period to what period are we speaking. Have all been definitely the result of this COVID-19 virus? Why are there so few definitive answers when work on this takes place 24/7? And again today the President states that 5 million tests will be available soon. I have been reading this for days. Something just is not Kosher in my mind over all this. NY mayor out and about with his family yesterday, yet he carries on as though everyone else who goes out is a criminal. Why aren't people asking more questions?

Since we learned that they were making the numbers up, there are no important statistics.

I saw on the news this morning that Maines CDC director says we have to maintain what we're doing so that we avoid another spike in cases.
Please can anyone tell me when the spike occurred? The infection rate is something like .0015% and the death rate for those is something like .00005%.
BTW I don't really expect any answers. I just had to vent.

But the good news is that deaths due to the flu are now nearly nonexistent and from what I understand, Chicago’s death by gun shot wounds are at the lowest point in 10 years or so.
As I wrote before, this virus is a panacea so why try to get rid of it when it’s doing so much good?
No more TB, MS, drownings, murder..........

I'm curious. Do you guys believe stories about the nurses and other ER employees in hospitals being overwhelmed in the last few weeks is also "fake" news?

Who is going to be the guilty party for most all the deaths it will not be the people who are. The medical refusing to use the cure and blocking it also the Democrat governors who have the power to ban the use.

These poor overworked and overwhelmed nurses ? They had to practice this dance routine for a while to get it so perfect together and know just what to do and when to do it. Pretty sure they are not overwhelmed.

This is not to say that some nurses are not overworked, in places where there is more sick people (all of whom are now classified as COVID-19 patients), but many towns have actually had to lay off nursing staff because the hospitals and doctor offices are totally empty.
They set up those emergency hospitals in several places, and are now dismantling them because they were not ever needed or used at all.

There is SO much dis-information at this time, that a person really has to sort through everything with discernment.

Most people stuck with the stay-at-home, social distancing recommendations in the hot spot areas. What if they hadn't? When you plan, you plan for the worst, and hope for the best, don't you? Even I am surprised that so many people followed the guidelines voluntarily, and I'm an optimist.

What local and national news is talking about now is VP Pence. Him not wearing a mask while visiting a hospital.

It’s a good and fair question Nancy.
In truth, no one on this forum knows exactly what is going on except that which they are surrounded by. Personally, I know what I see locally and what I hear locally so from that perspective I call toro poop.

There are no more waiting lines at Walmart and Home Depot even though they appear to be busier than ever. We have had 4 deaths attributed to the virus in a 3 county area but yet, other than so called “essential” workers and a whole bunch of construction, people are being told to stay home.

As far as our two main hospital systems, people are being laid off and from what information I have gotten from the CEO of those hospital systems, they’re open and nearly begging for business. “Don’t worry and don’t be afraid to come in” he said. Still, elective surgery is still a pick and choose type of thing.
From what I saw yesterday when we passed a dentist’s office, they’re busy but yet I can’t get my derned eyes checked for a new prescription because the optometrist and ophthalmologist offices are closed and only doing business over the phone. I guess it’s essential that I am able to eat but not essential to be able to see what I eat.

Our governor has decided that the gyms will remain closed but yet, the gym my wife and I go to is probably one of the healthiest places to go. It’s filled with doctors and nurses and there’s sanitizer all over the place and if one so chooses, we can wear surgical gloves and masks. The only exception would be those people who attend classes so yeah, maybe those should be closed for a while and maybe the sauna and steam room should be closed due to the safe distancing thing but to close the whole gym is almost addle brained.

In short, if there wasn’t so much hypocrisy involved with the whole of the matter then maybe things would be a little more believable.
