Here's the computer I'm having trouble understanding.

The All-In-One model combines the Computer, Disc Drive, and the Monitor all in the same housing, as shown.

Do any of you own this device? If not, then I may not be getting the instructions I need for this new model, and will have to take it to the Geek Squad when Best Buy reopens.

What are you having problems with Hal? No, I don't own an all-in-one but I'm willing to see if I can help.

All that I can say is that you should have stuck with the Mac.

That's nice of you, Von, but I'll just wait until I can see the Geek Squad technicians in person with my computer.

I think you need to face one very distinct detail. By your own admission, you fail to remember a lot of things so to me, no amount of tutoring is going to do much good if you do not have a way of remembering what to do.

Why don’t you start your own book. Go to whatever store that has School and Office supplies and buy a decent notebook and some tabs. Every problem you have has a solution and when you have a problem, write it down and then, on that same page write down the solution.
Perhaps you remember the old -13 flight log books that were for maintenance problems. The pilot or crew chief wrote down the problem and whoever solved the problem wrote down what they did to fix it.

Instead of Windows 10 for Dummies, call it Windows 10 for Hal. You can categorize everything with the tabs with everything from definitions of terms to the shortcut keys.

Bobby, that's exactly the advice my wife has been giving me for the 7 months that I've owned this horrible device!

I've never taken her advice because I just don't feel like going to the trouble!

Yvonne gave me instructions on how to import YouTube videos to the Forum, which I printed out on a card. It worked for a few times, then stopped giving me "PASTE" on the drop-down box, and that was the end of that!

As I've told Von Jones, I'll just wait until Best Buy re-opens and take myself and my All-In-One Trouble-Box to the Geek Squad desk, where the technician can SHOW me what the hell to do to get things to work for me.

I never did figure out how to get that "fold-down" disc drive to work!

Bobby, feel free to call me a jerk for not being willing to take your advice! I won't give a shat!

As many times as you have consulted the Geek Squad, you’d think you would have learned to take notes by now but, have it your own way. I’m sure they’ll get tired of saying the same things over and over and at some point give you a paper binder and a pen.

So far as the name calling thing goes, I do not really expect anyone to take suggestions from me so no, the adverse labels are out today.
Besides, I think that in the last 7 months, your wife has that item well covered and probably more accurately than I could ever be.

Bobby...I have consulted the Geek Squad ONLY ONCE to find out how to transfer my picture gallery to the new machine.

Also, what's this about "saying the same things over and over", when I've only consulted them once?

Please THINK before typing, Bobby! :D:mad:

Not according to what you’ve written in the past Hal.
It is indeed you who needs to THINK or else take notes.

And, what’s all this yelling about Hal? Bold and capitalized words are called yelling and I nor anyone else likes to be yelled at. It seems to me that you get all upset when someone writes .ha ha .....so do unto others Hal. Do unto others.

Yes, Bobby...you're right as always. I write words that are sometimes inflammatory and not always factual.

I will try to atone for my writing faults before July 11, when I turn 84.

    Sincerely,
    Harold

Hal, it doesn't matter what kind of computer you have, the Windows actions/commands will be the same. We have an all-in-one but it's a Dell. It operates exactly like my laptop; the only difference is the personalization done on each.
