@John Brunner The last item was a common treat in the Chicago area when I was a kid. No one there pronounced the "s" as one would in "popsicle". Years later, living clear across the country, my wife wrote the word "fudgesicle" down in front of one of her salesmen, who had grown up in Chicago, and he immediately replied "fudgeicle"! Amazing! Frank
I thinking of this for tonight dinner. Too hot to eat a lot or much. Beer Brats, red peppers, red onion, zucchini , baby carrots roasted with tiny potatoes together. What cha think ?
That's pretty funny, Frank. I've never heard that. I had family in Pennsylvania who always drank "pop." That never made sense to me...it was not specific. Coke, Pepsi, RC, Sprite, Mountain Dew, etc are all "pop." You may as well request "carbonated liquid."
I think you just had Italian sausage and now you're gonna make brats!!! Are you doing a Pigs of Europe tour or what??? (ps: It actually sounds good. Someone here mentioned kielbasa and I have yet to find any to my liking.)
@johnlBrunner l used very very little ground sausage in the sauce for the spagehhti...lolol As for tonites supper..cooked sausage sliced very thin ..maybe two or three ..not whole package. Probably still bad healthwisebut every thing is anyway.
Okay. Well, then go ahead And when it comes to what I cook relative to "health," I take my mental health into account as much as my physical health. If it feels good, eat it! You know, all this has given me a hankering for brats or kielbasa. I've not liked the ones I've purchased from the grocery store...they always shrink up into nothing. There's a farm in my part of the county that sells their own meats, and I know they have brats. Maybe it's time for me to support my local business.
There is a brand called Syracruse...may be misspelled that are very good when you can find them at Tom Thumb or Albertsons. You can meat counter person...here they are not displayed with the other brands.
In Texas all are called Coke...otherwise you have to be specific. At least it is where I have always been.
Sounds excellent to me, Gloria. I love sausage, but it doesn't love me (of course I still eat it.) Since I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago, any type of sausage causes a "bathroom emergency." TMI, but there you are. We're having eggroll in a bowl for dinner today. Soy sauce for everyone!
Most people I know just specify which drink they want.... coke, sprite, root beer, etc. I usually only have coke and sprite in the house, so choices are limited by my preference.
