PIT: Ugh, what an annoying day so far. We need new tires on our motorhome and naturally we can't just wheel into Discount Tire since they don't stock big tires and don't have the bays to accommodate a 34' vehicle. So last week I called around to the big truck tire sellers and found "Southern Tire" with excellent online reviews. The helpful young man said he'd order the tires and set an appointment for installation today at 10 a.m. Southern Tire is located in Willis, TX, about an hour and a half from here using toll roads, so my husband got up early, went to the RV storage, and drove off to Willis. When he got there, it appears they only received TWO of the SIX tires we ordered. So he drove an hour and a half back home without any tires. (They assured him the tires will be there next week...) Now I will say that even though gasoline is fairly cheap right now, it is expensive to drive a motorhome (getting 7 MPG) for three hours, and no telling how much $$ in tolls. Not to mention the annoyance of it being for naught. So he just got home. I guess the hunt for tires continues because we won't be returning to "Southern Tire", but we aren't telling them that until they call to say our tires are in. Peak: Hasn't happened yet.

We are actually an hour and a half south of there in the Houston area, but our middle son lives in Conroe. In fact our kids are all over the state... one son in Bastrop, 2 daughters in the Austin area.

Two out of six, sounds fishy to me. It's experiences like this that makes me wonder, why. Though my mind would already be made up not to do business with them again I wonder why only two, why not call when the tires came in before the appointment, surely the tires arrived before then. Who did they give the tires to that needed them that would put me out for another week. Maybe they thought reordering 4 more tires would arrive before my appointment. So now they will be stuck with six tires and pay restocking fees to return them, not to mention a bad review to boot. Hope you are too @Beth Gallagher.

Pit: Today I got my grocery delivery and I had ordered 2 prime sirloin steaks and a pound of jumbo shrimp, which were on sale in the weekly specials. When I was checking my order I noticed that I was charged the regular price so I was not a happy camper. Peak: I called the store to complain and ask for a price adjustment, and the delivery manager credited me the ENTIRE amount; I got the steaks and shrimp for free!!
