Bill, I've been thinking about you. I'm glad you didn't take my comment the wrong way. I was just teasing. Also glad the virus hasn't moved from Tulsa to get you. Be careful.
No, I didn't take It wrong. I consider you and I to be buddies, capable of a little give & take when called for. Don’t worry about me, I can always go and butt my head against a tree.
Been a trying time. Wife has Glucomma in one and and is almost blind in that eye. Doc says she has some vision ut she can't read anyhing with it. Now she has Macular Degeneration in both eyes and cateracts have grown her good eye until she has been blind in that now for months. They wouldn't operate on here as long as she had some vision, but when it became clear her vision was gone they did op;erate last Friday. After surgery, she now has 22/25 in her good eye and in August when her final appointment is over it will be determined if glasses will help. It's been hard on both of us. Partly beccause of our ages and underlying health conditions. Just feeding ourselves has been a problem. That's what I've been in charge of. Can you imagine? Someone who doesn't cook, never has goes to the kitcen to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinnner three times a day. Were I in total chartge there would be no breakfast, just coffee; sandwiches for lunch, and pot luck for dinner. I discovered during this three week period that most of us eat too much. I was surprised but during this problem period, I only lost six pounds. but the journey continues.
Bill, I sure hope your wife gets some good news in August, for a change. It won't hurt to have sandwiches. Do the best you can, and the food will be fine. Fried eggs and toast, open a can of vegetables and fruit occasionally. Or how about some good brand of frozen pot pies, like Marie Callender. You can do it.
@Bill Boggs ..so sorry to hear that news for you both. Bill if u don't have one get a small crock pot...throw the food in add spices...wa la..you got lunch and supper all in one. You can't go wrong on a crock pot.I use Lipton Beef or onion or golden soup mix for roasts..delicious
We had a storm come through Saturday night/Sunday morning. Neighbors tree Blew over, .damaged our fence. A large limb In our yard neighbor limbs everywhere. Wind measured at weather station at seventy-eight mph. Much of city lost power, including us. Power off eleven hours. I’ve got large tank of oxygen for such an emergency. Turned some cars over here. Really put on a lightning show.
Sorry to hear of your wife's vision problems and I hope August will bring better news for her, Bill. Meals don't have to be complicated; buy some "tv dinners" and canned goods; they will be fine in a pinch. Is there a Meals on Wheels service in your area?
Made it okay. Lost a few pounds, which I could well afford to do. I'm getting close to fighting weight again. working on my head butt. I'm good to go.
