Of course most of us are sensible and would avoid such an area, but Ken's OP states that we are "suddenly surrounded," so apparently we have no choice to avoid the situation.

In my opinion (and we all know what that's worth), this is a "fear for my life" situation. I would not "floor it" and try to purposefully hurt anyone, but I definitely would lock the doors and keep rollin'.

I think most of us would rather avoid the situation if possible but if you can't make a u-turn because there are cars or people around you and it's too late to turn off, what situation would have to exist for you to decide that running someone over was the best choice?

I would largely depend on who that person was; in other words, some raging bastard who has murder in his eyes is gonna be an easier decision that some useful idiot college girl holding a sign who has been told to block my way, and she has an air of ambivalence about her. My next action would depend on whether hate or empathy would override fear and panic.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is pushing legislation that would allow drivers to run over a mob without liability. -- Law & Crime

That would seem to extend Florida's stand-your-ground law, and I think it makes sense. As with the stand-your-ground laws, I doubt that it would give someone blanket immunity for running over anyone who is in the street, nor should it. I don't think people should be able to run someone down just because they're blocking traffic, but I have to acknowledge that stopping for BLM or Antifa protestors can clearly pose a threat to life. People have been killed stopping for these people. I would hope, and expect, that the circumstances would be taken into consideration, as well as any alternative choices that might have existed. Someone who has reason to believe that stopping would pose a danger shouldn't have to choose between saving his life or going to prison.

Good for him. Word will get around.

Our government--at all levels--has been infiltrated.
Criminals are acting out with permission and without penalty.

"Occupy" was a dry run to see how people would react to one-sided law enforcement.

A British "tuner" firm has solved our dilemma.

They are modifying Jeep Wranglers to make them "mob-proof."

Named the “Chelsea Truck Company Jeep Wrangler CJ400 protest edition,” it's bullet-proof and comes in at $85,000.

From their website. "British tuning shop Project Kahn and its subsidiary Chelsea Truck Company are using their custom automaking abilities to support BLM protesters around the world.". I think I need a translation. Since BLM are protestors does it mean that it's built for them? I think I need to go back to reading comprehension class.

I don't think journalists are known for their writing skills, huh?
I also think the label "bullet proof" is pretty much "believe-at-your-own-risk" hyperbole.

It looks like they've got all bases covered:

I saw a news clip of an ambulance running code 3, being blocked by blm folks and a large truck went around it and opened the road for them not stopping, oddly the protesters moved, the truck honked and did not stop for them. Ambulance followed them.

Leftists do nothing but destroy, then claim they are our saviors.

To repeat myself: For want of an honest media...

I want an honest, UNBIASED media. Oh, and I want to win the lottery. I think my odds are better for the lottery, though.
