My mother was British and my father's parents were German. If you search for the number of households that owned slaves in each state, the percentages range from something approaching 45% to the single digits. So even those with deep roots here have clean hands. Of course, what always gets lost is the entire history of slavery in the world, up to the present day.
I moved the ancestry posts to the ancestry.com thread. http://www.seniorsonly.club/threads/ancestry-com.320/
RFK jr. seems to be coming out for non-cash reparations for Black Americans. If you can stand to listen to him, what do you think?
I was reading that today. I think that this is a diversion to pick up more of the democratic votes, because it is not likely to get any taken away from Trump. It looks to me like this will work pretty well. It is the liberals who want all of the reparations for black people, regardless of where they came from or how they arrived in America; so this, together with the climate change agenda, might draw votes away from Biden. If Kennedy can pull enough Biden votes over to himself, then it may not be possible for the election to be rigged like happened last time. They did steal votes from the independent candidates in 2020 as well as from Trump, but if Kennedy can get enough , it would stop Biden (or whomever they end up running) from coming close enough that they can steal the election this time.
Unfortunately, if Kennedy is in the race, he draws more Trump than from Biden according to some polls since he is preaching a somewhat more like "the old Democratic Party narrative" and many of the Dems who vote for Trump are given an alternative who hasn't been pounded in the media for years.
I may have posted this before. I wrote a paper in college that showed the Black tribes of Africa sold conquered Blacks to the slave traders on the coast to take them to North America and elsewhere. Whites could not have gone into the interior of Africa because of malaria and other diseases to capture slaves.
Yes, I keep thinking back to Ross Perot. He didn't intend to win, only sway the election. I kind of wonder if the projections are correct when I see the Black vote rethinking Democrats.
Yeah, ol' Ross was believed by many to be a Conservative, but he was a life-long Democrat, albeit an old fashioned one, and he was the reason Clinton won two terms.
