I am having my first cup of coffee and waiting for my breakfast of poached eggs on toasted English Muffin and bowel of mixed fresh fruit to be delivered to my apartment. Lunch will be brought to me at 1 PM. and dinner at 5:15 PM. In between these meal times I will spend some time texting family members, watching TV news, reading 17th century history . Our lockdown will partially end on the 14th and allow for a little more activity.
@Lon Tanner It's raining here today. Gonna rain tomorrow and Monday as well. Putzing around inside and on the computer. It stinks because I've got an overgrown area behind my garage I want to clear out and put down some gravel so I can get my tractor out of my garage, and to have a weed-free place to stack my firewood. I recently bought a Stihl weed eater and the saw blades for it to clean out the brush and saplings. Things just need to dry out first. @Hal Pollner Happy Birthday to your daughter!!
Ummm- well I stared at the vacuum cleaner for a few hours. Have been up since three am so not lively today. Watching re runs off and on of Downton Abbey...oh and just made a small cake Otherwise it be real quite around here.
It's still solo eating but better than eating alone in my apartment. I will have Rigatoni with Olive Oil Hazel Nut Sage Lemon Zest & Parmesan Cheese Grilled Chicken.
Well, one thing for sure, Lon.......you know how to take photos of your meals and put them on the forum.
Every time I read this thread it reminds me of the movie Separate Tables (1958). I would much rather eat in the dining room and people watch.
I enjoy seeing them. I was on a forum some years ago and we would do that as a matter of routine...a bunch of guys who liked to shoot and to cook. Besides, as I said already, your pics have inspired me to make some of those dishes. By coincidence, I already had homemade rigatoni on my radar screen when you posted yesterday's meal.
I'm just guessing that CVS or Walgreens will be administering the vaccine at our facility before the end of January.
If you lived in Germany, it would come to you very soon because your group would have top priority. It might be interesting to all those who engage in Bill Gates- as well as Pharma-bashing that the vaccine authorised by the UK just yesterday wouldn't have been available if Bill Gates hadn't believed in the new approach of developing an RNA vaccine at a very early stage by funding part of the research which the start-up of the original German developer Ingmar Hoerr from CureVac was needing badly. His fundamentally new approach has then been used by Biontech/Pfizer in producing the BNT162b2 vaccine now authorised in the UK and very likely also in the EU.
Yes, Bill Gates has extensive experience with viruses. I have to wonder why people in assisted living would be considered for the first round of vaccine. After all, they are already living in a somewhat isolated environment. Seems to me that the caretakers who work there would be the more logical choice for the vaccine, since they enter/exit the facility with some frequency. But what do I know?
