Feeling a little bit grumpy today, @Hal Pollner ? As Ken has often mentioned, the best way to get responses to a thread is to write about your thoughts on the topic. Just writing a sentence, a quote, (or even worse, posting nothing but a link and a few words) is seldom going to get much of a response, if any. This is a discussion forum, so if you want a discussion, you have to actually discuss the topic yourself, not just write a title and short sentence. If it makes you feel better, you are not the only one who does this, and ends up with very few responses to their threads.
Of course, since you mentioned it, the year does have some important history. For instance, The summer of 64 AD is important for the reason that a great fire broke out in Rome, when over 70 percent of the city was destroyed, as written by the historian Tacitus. Half of the over 1 million residents were made homeless, and most of them blamed the emperor, Nero. The rumor is that he set the fire himself so he could rebuild the city the way in a new style. Also, some say that since he hated Christianity, he blamed the Christians, and supposedly fiddled while the fire was raging. Also, some of the books of the New Testament, such as 1st Timothy and Hebrews were thought to have been written close or on this year.
I apologize to Yvonne, Mary, and all others who though I was too abrupt and insensitive...right after posting the thread, I felt like shat! I know I have posted interesting and popular threads in the past and I'll do it again, in spite of the back and knee pain that has been torturing me the past few days.
