Trump is taking Hillary's advice never concede no matter what. Oh I am sorry she told that to Biden. What hypocrites.
This is just the first page, but it shows that Biden is definitely NOT the president-elect at this point in time, despite what the fake news channels are saying.
Interesting. That letter is signed only by Jody Hice. He is the representative from our Congressional district here in Georgia. He is the ranking member of that committee. Page 2
Donald Trump remains president until his term is over at noon on January 20, 2021. Nothing that happened on election day or the days that follow change his position or the authority that comes with it. Joe Biden is neither the president nor the president-elect. There is no role, under the constitution, for the media in our election process. The media is free to "call elections" for whomever they wish, just as polling companies can make predictions, but these media calls have no bearing on the election process. If the media were in control of it, Thomas Dewey would have been inaugurated president in 1945 and Al Gore would have been become president in 2001. There is no such thing as the Office of the President-Elect. Barack Obama invented this unconstitutional and unofficial position in 2008. It didn't matter then, and it doesn't matter now, other than in the minds of the media and those who follow the media. Joe Biden will not be President-Elect until the Electoral College meets on December 14, if then. However, December 8 is the so-called "safer harbor" date, by which the states, under federal law, must have resolved any and all controversies regarding a disputed election, and then the governors must so certify, in order for the names of the actual electors to be reported to the national archivist. Neither state governors nor courts, including their high courts, have any authority over how federal elections are conducted in their states. If the election results are still in doubt by December 8, as may be the case, the Trump campaign could ask the state legislatures in the disputed battleground states to set aside the tainted election tallies and use their plenary powers under Article 1, Section 4 of the US Constitution to appoint and certify slates of electors favorable to the GOP. Republicans now control 24 states, in which they have both houses of the legislature, including the battleground states of Arizona and Florida. Meanwhile, in Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, they control the legislatures, but the governors are Democrats. All six of those states could send Trump slates to the feds by December 8 if they wish. Whether the governors would certify these slates is another matter. By contrast, the Democrats control only one current battleground state, in which the vote is in dispute - Nevada. Should the election be thrown into the House of Representatives (as it was in 1800 and 1824, despite media insistence that this would be unprecedented), each state delegation would get one vote for president. If Republican-controlled legislatures voted Republican, which is not a certainty, Trump would win 31-18. At the moment, the key state is also the Keystone State, whose 20 electoral votes would put Biden over the top, if Arizona is included, should they withstand legal challenges. The highly partisan Democrat control of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and a highly partisan Democrat governor seems certain to ensure that Pennsylvania will remain contentious to the end. Reverse those votes, and the quest for the White House would come down to Georgia. In several states, the results, as reported, have been highly questionable, including Michigan and Wisconsin, in which large batch of votes - some 100% for Biden - arrived in the dead of night during a "lull" in the counting, allowing Democrats to figure out how many votes they needed to pull ahead. Elsewhere, electronic "glitches" have switched Trump votes to Biden, although rarely - if ever - the other way. The politicization of the Coronavirus can be blamed for most of the chaos, allowing Democrats to push the boundaries of what constitutes a fair election, running roughshod over constitutional and societal norms in order to remove as many protections against voter fraud as possible. The one time that Biden both made sense and was honest in his campaign was when he said, "We have put together, I think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics." What would the media reaction have been if Trump had both said and did that?
As an outsider here is my nickel's worth. Donald Trump is used to getting his way. He does not want to lose at anything.. specially something as massive as the American presidency. Whether or not his claims of election fraud are factual.. and the evidence they are, is dimming every day.. the man needs to show some respect to his opponent. Not bloody well ignore him and continue playing on his resort golf course. How about something like '' well played Joe but it aint over until the fat lady sings". Or is that a touch cynical.
Are you saying that even if the claims of election fraud are true, and Biden cheated, as President Trump and many other people are saying; that he should just concede the election , even if Biden cheated to win ? Why would America want a president that has to commit voter fraud to win the election, just like happens in places like South America , @Craig Wilson ? https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...-election-probably-400-electoral-votes-audio/
The only time I can recall seeing Trump behave with any sort of humanity was when he received word of Ruth Ginsberg's death. I believe his blustering, juvenile manner is what lost him the re-election; people are tired of "tweet storms". Any expectation for him to conduct himself in a respectable manner is not going to happen. So if you are cynical, then so am I.
Yvonne I have never endorsed cheating. But I do endorse decency and integrity. And Donald Trump has shown none of that to his opponent. I am reading every day that more and more of his appeals are being tossed out of court. He appears to want to do anything to stay in power even sack someone that has dared to contradict him over his electoral fraud claims. I also fear that the fervor he has instilled in his most loyal followers may incite more bloodshed on your streets.. and no one wants that surely.
Thus far Craig, conservatives have been peaceful and I dare believe that we will hang on to that ideal position. As for the rest, I nor anyone else can truthfully lay a claim to be able to read minds, any mind. We may “think” we know what D. Trump is thinking but the reality is that everyone, both for and against, is just guessing what his motivations are. As it is, I have no problem with a man who will go the distance to prove he is right if indeed, he is. In some instances, Trump is spot on because we are finding out that there are elements in our election system that need a lot of work. Even if fraud has been going on since 1789. the time has come for it to be stopped no matter who the candidates are, no matter what office they are running for. Like this CV-19 we’re going through, the corruption within the election system is spreading and the thing is, the people involved with that corruption seem to be proud of themselves. Even if Donald Trump loses the nod, because he Has run the gamut, the doors revealing the massive amounts of fraudulent behavior from the politicians to the people checking the machines and tabulating the votes are flinging open and I truly hope that Trump’s efforts to highlight those involved is fully fruitful. If I were in the very same position as the President is and if I truly believed that I was in the right, there isn’t anything on this earth save death that would prevent me from fighting to prove what I believe. I learned from a very early age that a person’s integrity and character is in jeopardy if he or she gives up just because some people believe they should. I have also found out that there are times when a person goes against the grain, great things can happen.
I have always felt this way about Donald Trump before he ever ran for POTUS. Despite his wealth, his manner of speech and persona are totally lacking any class.
It looks like these shenanigans about contesting the election are mainly to gin up support to raise money. I wonder if the money raised has to be used for the purpose stated. I'm not familiar with the laws on fundraising.
