I have never had a McRib. I would eat that same food if it were a chopped pork sandwich, but the thought of it being factory-extruded to look like a side of ribs turns me off for some reason. Tonight my neighbor's wife made bow tie pasta in a white sauce for me to bring home for dinner. He was in a bind so I helped him finish his deck. Started at 9:30AM, finished at 7:30PM. I'm not used to real work. Lunch was home-fried chicken.
I don't know why I love the McRib; I suppose it's the mystique of pressed-and-formed meat that is only available for a few weeks each year. My husband wouldn't touch one with a 10-foot pole but then he won't eat a hot dog, either.
Today we weren't particularly hungry, so we've been snacking on whatever we dig out. I had a piece of cheese toast and a beer. Now I'm stalking the Rocky Road ice cream.
Took another stab at chicken pot pie. This time it came out really good. Now I'm trying to remember what I put in it.. Managed to make do with only one store pie crust. Cut out the ridge on the edge. It didn't boil over because I made it thick. I like thick. .
I had to laugh at this. I can't tell you how many times I've chased after something I've made, never to exactly duplicate it. We should start a restaurant: "Nancy & Bill's House of Random" (See, I gave you top billing.)
Cobbled together leftovers to make a repeat of Thanksgiving dinner. Only got one more serving of cranberry sauce in the freezer. Have plenty of everything else.
Drilled my neighbor's deck and installed (14) 12" long carriage bolts. Also finished the pickets. My work there is done. He & the Mrs. took me to Outback (25 miles up the road in The Big City.) *burp*
