Well, we've made it through our first winter, back here in Colorado! There were years, when we lived here before, when our last snow was on Mother's Day Weekend, but not this year. Our last snow (9 inches) was the Wednesday after Easter. Actually, we got 6 inches on Easter Sunday, but it pretty much all melted before the 9 inches came the following week. Now all we are getting is nice sunny days, with some of rain/t-storms.

Our normal May temp is 71 and then we jump up some 13 degrees in June to 83. Boating season has definitely begun at local lakes.

We had our first snow a couple of weeks ago but we have a reprieve. Recent weather has been more like fall This weekend, we're supposed to get a mixture of snow and rain, so that doesn't sound like anything that is going to stick, either.

Well, from the looks of the tail on that squirrel, he or she doesn’t think there’s gonna be much snow either otherwise, according to the wives tales, the tail would be much bushier.
I dunno, I’m not a wife so I wouldn’t know one way or the other.

Is that a capture from one of the new cameras? Looks like a sharp image.

Yes, it is. It takes pretty crisp night photos too.

Unless it melts before I get up in the morning, I might have to shovel tomorrow. Maybe not. We've had quite a lot of snow, but the temperature is one degree above freezing, although it's likely to get colder during the night.

It’s been below freezing every single night for a week now and it’s not expected to let up any time soon. Today we had a heat wave and it hit a whopping 47 or something like that.

Gosh, we’re having so much fun in the cold we’re thinking of moving to the North Pole! Not.

Our power is out and not expected to be fixed soon.

That sucks, Storm went north and eastof us. We got rain sleet and now a touch of snow. I don't want to have to plow until the ground freezes, tears up to much gravel.

It wasn't as bad as it looked and sounded like it was going to be, as the winds were scary. Our power came back on this morning, which left me with the job of shoveling out. I shoveled the sidewalk and dug the car out of the snow. When I got to the hardest part, which was the packed snow plowed into my driveway by Public Works, someone who I didn't even recognize came by with a plow tractor and cleared it out for me. Although it doesn't always happen, that's not uncommon here. Now, I am left with shoveling the back landing, a path to my compost pile, and a path to the oil tank, since we need to order heating oil tomorrow. Since it's warm (like summer) right now (33 degrees), I am tempted to wait and see if it melts on it's own but if it doesn't, it will freeze tonight and it will be much harder to do tomorrow.
