I saw Contagion (2011) when it first came out and today went to watch it again to see any analogs to the present day coronavirus pandemic. Others had the same idea long before me. The video is a little dated.

Everything Contagion got right on the Coronavirus outbreak

On Sunday, we watched Deep Impact, where a large comet is headed to destroy the world. Just another disaster film where many people are killed. It came out the same year as Armageddon in 1998, but Deep Impact got much more acclaim due to the technology that appears in the movie. Part of Deep Impact, towards the end, is taken from the movie 2012 where Arks are used to escape the world disaster.

I just watched Dying of the Light with Nicolas Cage (2014). Cat and mouse. I bought this movie at the flea market for 25 cents.

Another one of my favorite actors that I have been following their acting careers.

For the last few weeks I am into the old westerns....John Wayne's , Gary Cooper's , Lee Van Cliff's... and always in love with the music of "The good, the bad and the ugly"(Enio Morricone)

I have been binge watching HBO Max since Christmas. My son added me to his account when I told him that I wanted to see
Wonder Woman 84 (WW84). I've since watched the DC superheros series Titans, Underwater and now Doctor Sleep. So far Doctor Sleep has me sitting on the edge of my seat. It's one of those dark magic cult movies starring Ewan McGregor. Underwater was okay for a trapped underwater in the ocean scenario with Kristen Stewart (Twilight Saga). The spin off of Wonder Woman (WW84) with Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious) and Chris Pine (Star Trek) was okay.

I had contemplated a subscription to HBO Max but the selections aren't as expanse as Amazon Video or Netflix.

    Von Jones,

People can say I am silly but lately (few years) I only watch old westerns.

Yeah, I enjoy a few of them.
Guns that never run out of bullets, the bad guy always loses and the wonder of a log cabin sitting in the middle of no where and nary a tree in sight.
Funny at times but generally speaking all good movies and shows.

That said, I met with John Wayne a few times at the Casa De Santa Cruz Country Club and served Amanda Blake many times at the Care Free Inn and watched as Chill Wills knocked his wife out of her chair at Arnaud’s Restaurant. Thankfully she wasn’t hurt that badly and thankfully Dale Robertson was there to pick up the dinner check.

    Bobby,

Leaving on the side all your usual / adorable sarcasm...allow me to tell you that I rather watch a western than some of the empty movies of today...

Ya see, once again you just wish to start an argument. I AGREED and followed it with a bit of wit and truth worthy of conversation but nope, ya just gotta be snarky and petty.

The reason I wrote about the log cabins etc is that when we watch a lot of the older westerns, it could be a mud hut but still have lace curtains and a delicate tea service on the table which doesn’t take away from the plot but it’s funny. And......everyone has seen the no load guns in a gun fight. Again, it doesn’t take away from the plot but it’s funny.

And as far as the people I have met, I am being truthful. I have worked all over the U.S., met a lot of people and have even played a couple of parts in a couple of movies.

But I will watch one. No, no a western today...Bobby may tease me. :)
I will watch one of Charles Bronson's Death Wish.

I remember the first one, I was in Argentina; at the end the people gave the movie an standing ovation.
