Wasn't this a result of the EU trying to force feed eastern European countries some of the flood of new immigrants entering Europe? Weren't the ill effects of doing so being demonstrated throughout Europe, and sadly, Germany too?

Why, then, did the majority of the "free" people support both Castro and Chavez?

You say free people you can be free and still brainwashed if all you hear on the news controlled by government.. All the good things your leader are doing and how the evil around the world is jealous of your life stile and they want to hurt you. The Cobain and Venezuelans are generally poor to very poor while Castro and Chavez were millionaires and Chavez daughter was the richest woman in South America.

Yes, partly it was a result of that. However, are these countries full members of the EU or not? Cherry-picking for just a few doesn't make sense. Full members have rights and responsibilities. They cannot move the goalposts as they please which is what's happening right now. I'm glad at least a tiny success was achieved before Christmas saying that countries that don't care about human rights, constitutionality and democratic procedures will receive less money in future - at least on paper.
Orban & Co just want to enjoy the advantages (money, benefiting from leading-edge technology and research, etc) of being a EU member but don't wanna care about the other side of the coin and laugh up their sleeves when other members assume responsibility? Here they'd have to make a decision like the UK which didn't want to accept the consequences of EU membership. The donor countries of the EU should stop feeding those states which just want to take without being willing to give.

Problem of the EU is they are making law for other countries to follow but not one member is elected or has responsibility to the people. This is a kind of dictatorship with no input of the people.

    James Hintze,

Did you ever hear one of Castro o Chávez speeches? Both were masters of indoctrination...The same is happening in Argentina right now....and happened with Juan Perón. Both dudes promised gold and diamonds to the middle classes...yes, everything. Classic of the populists. Upon wining (Castro took over) they show the truth. Chávez perpetuated himself in power by rigging the elections...as just did the MAS's candidate (Evo Morales' guy) in Bolivia.
BTW, the system used in their election is the same used in USA last 11/3.

Talk to people who lived this horror directly. Trust me.

EU policies aim to ensure the free movement of people, goods, services and capital within the internal market; enact legislation in justice and home affairs; and maintain common policies on trade, agriculture, fisheries and regional development. (From Wikipedia)

If the highlighted part of the above were removed, which in effect eliminates sovereignty of member nations, there would be fewer problems. It's there as a power grab by the globalists. Countries and its citizens have a right to their independence.

Could somebody tell me the rationale behind :"admiring the Che Guevara" shown by many youth?

Ernesto "Che" Guevara Lynch- de la Serna was an Argentinian millionaire who never worked in his life; his family owned (still does) half of the Buenos Aires rural areas. Many doubt he was a medical doctor and the rumor says he was only a nurse. What we know is he was a psychopath who killed more than 150 Cubans nationals in the concentrations camps around that country.

Socialism is the topic. Can you argue your points the personal hatred? Pretend you're discussing the topic with someone you're likely to run into in the grocery store tomorrow.

    Yes, outside the EU.
There would even be fewer problems if the EU were smaller and consisted only of those willing and prosperous and having a west European culture. What is to be gained from countries like H and PL as well as from the Balkan states? All Europe stands for has been developed in the west. Not a single idea came from the east. The east added problems only.
I don't want my country to be influenced by medieval legislation in H and PL.
The thing is as I wrote: all the small print and all the contracts and documents were available before any country joined the club. Why did they join nonetheless? They should have stayed out or leave now.

Eastern Europe suffered too long under the dominance of the Soviets and Nazis, and are finally enjoying the fruits of self determination and freedom. I'm sure they have had enough of outsiders telling them how to live their lives. They should be welcomed by western Europe, but with that in mind.

Silvia, there are those that never learned a foreign language in high school or college. In my high school, Spanish was offered, but it was just a college requirement for any student that was going to attend college. Some of my classmates did take it and attend college, but they were from the more "upper-class"/non-farming areas. The guys I knew all either got Drafted into the Army or joined a Service, like I did (Navy) to avoid the Draft.

I do know some Spanish, but not nearly enough to have a conversation with it. I learned mine from jobs working in, and around, the city of Santa Ana, Calif..

There are a lot of Americans that want anyone who has moved to the U.S., to learn and speak English. Doesn't really make a whole lot of difference to us, unless talking to someone from India over the phone, who has a very heavy accent. Got keep saying, "Excuse me, would you please say that again?". Saying that too many times does get old.

    Cody

Besides the fact you probably speak more / better Spanish than those who learned it in the school....the point of my post was not to understand said language but TO SEE WHERE PEOPLE FROM VENEZUELA GET THEIR FOOD THANKS TO SOCIALISM.

I specifically mentioned the video was in Spanish to avoid misunderstandings.
