I grew up reading Kipling. Loved his "Just So" stories.

I was about to post the same poem and bumped into the one you posted. After a little thought I decided to post it anyway because it offers a little different prospective to it with Michael Caine as the narrator. Nonetheless, it’s beautiful and appropriate especially now when even we are busy bickering and pointing fingers.

    Yeah...KIPLING, man!;)

    (excerpt of famous poem)

"You may talk of gin and beer when you're quartered safe out here,
And you're sent to penny fights and Aldershot it.
But when it comes to slaughter, you'll do your work on Water,
And you'll lick the bloomin' boots of him what's got it!

Now in Inja's sunny clime, where I used to spend me time,
A servin' of Her Majesty the Queen.
Of all that ruddy crew, the finest man I knew
Was our good old grinnin' guntin' Gunga Din!"

Great poem, along with "Danny Deever," "Boots" and many other poems from England's military adventures in the Victorian era.

When I read certain poems or even some of you, sometime my thoughts go
something like this, ‘I wish I’d said that.’

    Yup.

Although I prefer "I wish I had said that" to "I wish I hadn't said that."

I can’t place the author but he said something like, that which is written can be erased but that which is spoken is always remembered.
It’s too bad that isn’t the case any longer. The internet is forever......

    Not for the public.
Many proven medical cures and things that totally eliminated the need to ever worry about any so-called epidemic or pandemic

have "disappeared" from the internet.... maybe forever, maybe not.....

The one that was around the longest (a few years I think) was the web pages titled <Mom's Against Autism> , a worldwide assortment or whoever joined and posted and so on, with the mom's own experience(s) with every stage of autiem, from before it happened, to when it was first realized, to when it was first diagnosed,, and then how some "lost the diagnosis" by what they did.... and what that was.

Losing the diagnosis (i.e. they kept going to the same licensed doctors for the medical needs or options or evaluations) was when the licensed (ama) doctro declared the atsm was no longer present <at least> in the actions, eyes, or in the other signs and symptoms of autism ... )

It is of course easy to prove me wrong here- if someone can find "Mom's Against Autism" WEB PAGES that used to be around and easy to find and read and post and join, until a couple years ago when it "disappeared" ...

Funny, I've always felt the opposite.

The written word lasts forever and can be proven, but the stupid stuff I say can always later be denied.

FOUND IT (that is a replacement - it seems the actual pages were destroyed)

on wayback machine. (internet archive of billions of pages)

Mmom's who found cures for autism, were censored by the drug lords/other powers subject to them/ completely off the internet, but I FOUND IT.

'In a time of national deceit speaking the truth is a revolutionary act'. I forgot who said this.
