I was going to say that the Ranger was my choice of truck before falling in love with the Jeep then I read the rest of your post.
I don't put much faith in what the scales say the first few days. Mostly water and doesn't mean anything. Morning weight was 136.2. I should have lost at least 1 pound by now. Will start keeping track now. I want to lose at least 1.5 lbs/week. Hopefully I can up the calories to around 1000 and still do that. Will see how it goes the next few days.
My blood pressure and cholesterol jump up whenever I get up near 140 lbs and I feel like a slug. Wednesday at the doctor's office (routine visit), bp was back down (124/57) after just 5 days of cutting back calories (and probably salt). I need to get ready to start mowing lawns again. Some weeds are already starting to green up here.
Well, I can tell cheese is not good for cholestrol either. I have cheese maybe once or twice a month on pizza or tacos. That was a biggy for me. Do you monitor your blood pressure?
No. Do you? I've thought about getting one of those monitors. It might be a fun toy to play with. Doubt it would tell you much day to day. Cheese, especially cottage cheese, gives me nightmares if I eat it just before sleeping. Doesn't stop me from eating though. What I'd like to get is a test kit for blood sugar, but I'm too lazy to look for one. Have you ever done that?
I monitor Johnny's bp and on occasion I do mine and it's always been normal. It would be good to get you a blood pressure monitor. Ours tells whether his bp is normal, low, moderate, high, or severe. It's digital and pretty easy to use. No blood sugar monitor but if my doctor says there is a concern I would get one.
The Jeep Gladiator is supposed to be a good vehicle. I looked at it online. It only has a 5' bed and I don't need 2 full seats.
(1/29/2021) Friday Morning weight: 136.2 Half sandwich (1 egg, 1/2 oz. cheese): 210 Beans & ketchup: 160 Cabbage: 150 butter (tsp): 40 Frozen dinner: 240 mixed vegs: 60 Total: 860 One of the hardest foods to count calories for is cabbage. The internet is all over the place. You think it can't possibly be that low, until you start frying it. It eventually all but disappears, because it's mostly water. I'm counting it as 50 cal/cup boiled. If I'm wrong, shoot me.
(1/30/2021) Saturday Morning weight: 136.8 .. (there is a logical explanation ) Beans & ketchup: 150 Fake crab meat: 200 3 medium apples (4.8 oz): 240 Cheese (1.5 oz): 180 FF Cool Whip (1/2 c): 80 Butter (1.5 tbsp): 170 Flour (1 tbsp): 30 Total: 1050 Attempting to get rid of some stuff (apples and lettuce). The apples were already mealy, when I bought them, so I tried an experiment. Fried apples. Topped with grated cheese or FF Cool Whip. Not bad. I bet the possums would like them.
(1/31/21) Sunday Morning weight: .137.0 . Beans, cheese & ketchup: 260 Fried apples (2) + Cool Whip/Cheese (1/2 oz): 380 Frozen meatloaf dinner + 1c cabbage: 280 Total: 920 Best fit line: Y = 138.1 - 0.19X If one were to go by this line, with only 10 data points, initial weight was about 138, and loss would be about a pound every 5 days. It will be interesting (to me) to see if that relationship still holds after more data points. . I can't help it. .I like numbers.
Found my mother's recipe box tonight. These two are noteworthy because... I speculated recently that her fruitcake might have been Mrs. Harvey's recipe, and there was a clipping. She got her simple recipe for pizza sauce from my aunt, who said she got it from an Italian lady she worked with at Goodyear Tire. My dislike of garlic might be genetic.
