-Salad -Pizza -Fudgesicle Don't know what's wrong with me. I was making homemade pizza for the longest time, and now I'm on a store-bought Heat & Eat kick (although I do add a ton of fresh veggies to them.)
Lately I've been doing more of the heat and eat stuff. Our grocery store carries fresh ready-to-bake pizzas in their deli section that are superior to frozen. I might add a few things but for the most part they are fairly good as-is. Of course, Domino's delivery trumps all these days.
Yup. My Walmart has a HUGE display case of refrigerated pizzas in the deli area, and since I started eating them I've noticed that they near sell out every day. They did not have the 3 Meat Thin Crust Medium I like the other day (large won't fit in my Breville), so I decided to do a frozen "Sam's Rising Crust Pepperoni." I sauteed shrooms, and heaped on onions/red peppers/green peppers. It was OK. I ate it. As you know, when you make homemade and you add up the ingredient cost, it ain't cheap. Heck, a decent mozzarella costs more than one heat & eat pizza. I also do a Fontina cheese pizza...that ain't cheap, either. Regarding delivery...not where I live. I read that delivery drones can do a 6 mile round trip. They gotta at least double that to get to me...then there are my hawks. Territorial little buggers.
Oh my goodness. I am stuffed to the gills with mexican food, and it was deeeee-lish. I had the Laredo dinner with extra chopped onions... and my husband had El Dorado... Both came with fresh warm flour tortillas, refried beans, spanish rice, tortilla chips, red and green sauce, and queso dip. Burp. I had a beer, Gloria!!! I gotta take advantage while I can.
I've said before that ethnic food is the only thing I miss about living outside of DC (although your Mexican is made by Mexicans, while mine was made by Burmese.) I really want a big bowl of authentic pho right now.
If you want excellent Tex-Mex or BBQ, Houston is the place to be. I also love asian restaurants but those are hit and miss.
Both Asian and Mexican restaurants are pretty bad here in Central Virginia. I don't understand why. It's not as though there's no produce here.
Tonight is Thanksgiving leftovers: -Salad (fresh) -Turkey -Gravy -Mashed potatoes -Stuffing -Green bean casserole -Fudgesicle I wish I had made another batch of homemade cranberry sauce and frozen it...I'm all out.
Got home late today but didn't want any takeout for some reason. I was told to "eat soup" so I made some potato soup, which sounded good to hubby, too. He even volunteered to peel potatoes for me... gasp! (I sent him on his way; I'm not helpless yet.) We sprinkled shredded cheese, chopped green onions and some crumbled bacon on top and it was most excellent.
I haven't made potato soup in a long time. It's very good considering how basic it is. I grabbed a Chef John minestrone soup recipe the other day that's on my list of things to make soon. It's got cabbage, Swiss chard and a bunch of parsley in it. I've never put any of those in the minestrone that I've made.
Ate out tonight. Applebee's ribs, slaw and onion rings. I had to get out of the house, and I can count on them to be open til 11PM (I ate at 8PM.) Daggone local IHOP closes at 7PM.
That looks good. I've never cooked with phyllo dough. May I assume it includes spinach, feta and broccoli?
Yeah. Plus chopped onions, cilantro leaves, oregano leaves, powdered rosemary, garlic and turmeric. The feta is vegan, and the filo is lightly sprayed with canola and margerine, as it's layered in the casserole dish and baked at 375° F, until it looks right, to me
