No When you see a Assisted Living Cost of a low $ 3,000 to $ 4,000 per month it probably does not include CARE FEES and is misleading.
If you go online to search jobs you will see that there are hundreds of jobs immediately available all over the U.S. Where I live is presently looking for 25 people. Benefits along with hourly wage.
Not a Monday thru Friday, 7AM to 3:30PM job though, right? I loved those days/hours and having every weekend off to party/have fun.
There are businesses here who are looking for people to work. As long as they can draw unemployment and stimulus money, they refuse to work. Can't blame them, can you?
The latest thing now is that Biden says if you even think you might get covid from your job, you can quit and still be eligible for unemployment. There is a good chance that this also makes you eligible for EBT and medicaid, so they probably would do better than they did while working, and can still find some kind of a part time thing that pays under the table.
Wrong Cody Monday thru Friday with flexible hours & days. Frankly I was thinking about you and how well you would fit in a place like where I live. We have two gentlemen in their 60's that do a super job as Meal Servers (not waiters)
We Baby Boomers are providing lots and lots of jobs in the medical and eldercare industries. This is happening globally.
Lon, you are in California. Cost of living is much higher there than in other areas, In my area of NY, unskilled jobs at a Senior Living Facility would be minimum wage or close to it.
Ok, Lon. First, "flexible hours and days" generally doesn't go with a Monday thru Friday job. Flexible hours are just that............flexable. Meaning, day shift, swing shift or even graveyard shift. Sometimes 8 hours a day, sometimes less, sometimes more. And, Lon, the last thing on earth I'd ever want to be is a Meal Server, let alone work at an Assisted Living place. My career was in inventory management and purchasing.
I got the impression that you and your wife were in need of $$ and that's why she was looking for work.
Don't need money that bad. She is working a temp job now (3-months until April) from home. Neither of us want me to work.
It's Called a Skin Check. Last year I had four separate skin cancers radiated on 20 separate appointments. I hope I have none this year and have so many appointments. Today will be my first day out of the Assisted Living for the past several weeks. I will be sure to wear my mask.
