It's 10:40 pm and we don't have snow yet. While I am generally annoyed with inaccurate weather forecasts, I wouldn't mind if they were wrong about the blizzard tomorrow. Then again, the last blizzard we had wasn't such a big deal.
I don't want to see the word "blizzard" anywhere but a DQ sign. I'm not certain I've ever seen it in a forecast where I've lived as an adult. Perhaps that 50" storm DC had in 2010...maybe.
Just came back in from plowing. Six inches. Looks like I will be doing it again by the end of the day. Told the wife to expect eight to ten inches, and she asked if I was bringing home a friend!
Well, it seems MN got satisfied with 14" and stopped sending the snow to my area. I was able to go to the super...after one hour cleaning the car. The "Snow Man" says it will snow again in Yonkers and on the entire eastern area of the state.
The snow began around 6:00 am and it's been snowing steadily. However, the flakes are so tiny and light that when I try to shovel it, the wind blows it out of the shovel before I can place it anywhere. Other than the head of the driveway, where the town plows keep packing it in, I haven't even had to shovel the driveway. I just drove through the snow a bunch of times and packed it down. If this is a blizzard, the word is overrated. Tomorrow might be worse because it's supposed to be a mixture of snow and sleet, and that's a lot harder to get rid of.
Yeah, our heat isn't electric. This is good because ever since we signed onto the New England grid, our power goes out whenever it snows, or when the wind blows.
The power is back, but now we're getting the wintery mix of snow and rain. It will be messy tomorrow.
