Scammers, Con-artists, Etc.

  1. One way the www is like old-fashioned postal mail is you can get bombarded with unwanted junk mail, either by ending up on a mailing list sold from one company to another, or not entirely sure what something is. With the misleading heading "myhealthwealthandhappiness," this individual is again popping up in my email inbox- deleting my name and links:

prepare for danger this New Year...

"At this point, there's only one thing that can protect you... Bethea"

you need to ready yourself. I don't say this to scare you. For over 7 months now of doing your predictions (for free), you must know that harm is never my intention when it comes to you. I have one harsh truth that I need you to understand...

There's nothing more that I want more than to shelter you from what is to come. But the fact is, I can't. However, I'm not leaving you to fend for yourself. I've found the that can offer you protection now, and for the next 365 days.

Don't let the darkness, negativity, and truly scary aspects of what is to come take root in your life. Shield yourself today, and forever... May 2nd is when it all begins. It will either be a day of Ultimate Protection — or the day of your undoing...

    Your psychic guide,

    Bethea

This stuff is horrible, downright cruel.
Plus, when checking RipoffReport, I found quite a few people who posted they'd ordered little trinkets, and found their credit cards were charged month after month.
How do individuals like that get away with this type of thing?

I've asked that question too over the years
Little has been done so far and I've lost count of the times I've heard of people being ripped off
It also annoys me that people themselves don't learn :(

If there is a way to get money there will be a person using it. The scams on the internet are many and some down right sneaky. I am very causes about opening any e-mail normally if I do not know the person I will delete it
I have had e-mails from what look like my bank telling that there is a big problem act now before we shut down your credit cards or seal your bank account. When I see them I redirect it to the bank marking it as phishing. Most e-mail servers also have a phishing option for redirecting e-mails.

if im reading this right that's how scammers work. with cookies enabled they pick them up and find where you have been visiting. then hand it over to their pals. I was getting a lot of them to but found a way to get rid of this. these are emails that pop up in your in box.
example: his email address domain@mx-s.leadtees.net. I high lighted everything after @ mx-s.leadtees.net. put it in my browser and here's what came up

I ticked reply and put this photo in with a note. "you been nailed and turned over for prosecution and I got 500 bucks for nailing your ass. so tell your pals to keep it coming" and sent it. after doing this to his pals they took a hike. nary a word again

Well, forum Peeps, today we had a new kind of scammer....... a religious scammer. He posted the same short message in two threads, encouraging everyone to go to his website to be saved.
So, I looked at the website, and (sure enough) he was just trying to get money, and nothing else. It looked like you could donate up to 10 million dollars if you needed to do that “to pay for your sins”.
We get all kinds of spammers here, but this one was beyond that, it was a full-on money scam, and preying on people who feel guilty for past sins and think that donating money will get them into heaven.
Anyway, I deleted the posts, and reported the person to @Ken Anderson , so he can ban him from the website. In the meantime, should he post anymore of these scam posts, please do not respond, and just report the posts.

I'd like to mention the telephone scammers. We frequently disconnect our land line for hours at a time. Our Iphones are programed to accept calls only from people on the list.
This could be fixed, but there's enough lobbying money to keep law enforcement from doing anything.

A large part of the problem is that scammers are located offshore.

The FBI cannot touch some kid in Sri Lanka who's using your credit card.

What really enrages me is that these scammers are getting our email addresses and other data from websites we're signed up on, and those websites continue to push for even MORE info. I have a couple that are real aggressive in pushing me to register my cell phone number with them. No way am I doing that. Heck, I got 5 calls today because my vehicle warranty is ready to expire!

Those folks are relentless. I get at least one call every day from them. They also send snail mail that looks official, as if from State agency.

Every time that I get one of these calls or emails, I block the number or the email. They seem to have a lot of numbers, but at least it stops them from using the same one on me again.
My iPhone is set to only ring when I have a call from a known contact, and everything else goes to voice mail. If it is legitimate, people will leave me a voice mail and I call them back, but most of the vehicle warranty callers don’t leave a message.
