    GREAT idea.

I was mentioning getting the old school desktop UPS to have around. That would be better.

I read prepper forums. Those guys extend the useful life of stuff like that by laying strings of LED Christmas lights around. They take so little energy, and are sufficient to cut the dark and provide a measure of safety. Some go so far as to only leave in every nth bulb to extend the battery life even further.

Those Halo Bolt things are one of my best buys ever. "Usually", we only have power outages of a few hours during a thunderstorm or whatever... and it's nice to have a lamp on or run a small fan, etc.

Plus, they actually will jump start a car. :D

A new electric toothbrush. Didn't want to drive all over town looking for the one I wanted---Braun Oral B Pro 1000. Simple. It doesn't tell you what to do, keep track, nag, try to shame, or call your smartphone.

I've had that exact same one for a few years. I really like it. I think it's the only one out there that doesn't use an "app" (as though it's easier to look at my phone as I brush my teeth than look in the mirror.)

And you can get pretty good deals on refill brushes (I believe on EBay.)

I recently bought a pak of Scot Comfort Plus toilet paper online. I did in-home tests on several brands (due to a routinely clogging septic line) and punted Charmin in favor of Scot. Then Walmart stopped carrying it. So I ordered from Amazon.

I'm building firewood racks and need to custom-cut tarps. So I ordered a grommet kit:

I've ordered several soft knit hats and some scarves; my hair is falling out in earnest now and it makes me so sad. [IMG]

Three days ago I bought a Hugolog keyless front door lock (Amazon) in $64,99 + tax.
Amazon surprised me once again -after the item was shipped- by telling me the price had been reduced to $34,99 + tax and that my account with them had been credited.

@Beth Gallagher , is there a reason your hair is falling out? I have been gone for a while and I feel I may have missed something.

Do your kids make jewelry for their own enjoyment, Martin, or do they sell it?
