She drove to a Community Center which was set up for administering inoculations. She parked at the entrance and a volunteer came out and gave her a check list to fill out. After she did, a Nurse came and gave her the shot while she was sitting in her car. After waiting the required 10 minutes to observe for side-effects, she was cleared to leave. This was as easy as 1-2-3 because she MADE AN APPOINTMENT a few days earlier. No waiting! Hal
My friend in the Sacramento area made an appointment for last Saturday. When she got to the facility, she was turned away because they didn't have any vaccine left. Sometimes an appointment works out and sometimes it doesn't.
Sounds like the continuing evolution of things we do in our cars. Now we get medical care, and don't even have to unbuckle our seat belts (certain specialties notwithstanding.) I'm glad your wife got her shot, Hal.
Went to Suite 102 of the Desert Valley Medical Group, arriving at my appointment time of 0840, filled out a checklist, and was escorted into the Inoculation Room where a friendly medical assistant gave me the injection. She was very nice. After the shot, I was asked to wait 10 minutes before departing the facility to be assured of no side-effects. I am now fortified with the anti-Covid-19 medication, but will continue to wear my mask and keep my distance whenever away from home. Harold
My wife goes for her #2 next Monday and I go for #2 on the 13th. Like yourself, we will continue to wear a mask/masks. That being a double mask. Regular mask on our face and a cloth one over that.
I have. The second one 2 weeks ago. I had a fever last night for the first time in many years. It was gone by early morning after my workout. No idea what caused it other than a reaction from the vaccine. I had brief light chills last evening then the fever. No other symptoms and feel great now.
I've already stated this in another thread, but will do it again: My wife got her #2 last Tuesday evening. She was fine until Wednesday morning around 10:30 and then had to stop working. During Wednesday she has some serious aches/pains, but not serious enough for an ER visit. Her temperature was 101.7. That is consider a low-grade fever. I had her take a 200mg Motrin and rest. After a couple more Motrin during the day/night, she was better on Thursday AM. Took her temperature again and it was 99.7. Better than the 101.7. She took another Motrin and later that evening, and the next AM her temperature was 98.9. Normal is 98.6. For Wednesday and Thursday, she basically had no appetite. Yesterday, Friday, she finally got her appetite back. It's now Saturday AM and she is doing fine and eating fine. But, that first day, and part of the next, after the #2 vaccine, she felt pretty darn bad. I get my #2 next Saturday and can only hope that I do better than she did.
