Murder/Shootings/Stabbings/Hit & Run/Rape/Auto Accidents/Robberies/Break Ins/ have been rampant for several years and hopefully this new Police Chief will be able to get it under control.
Paco is obviously Hispanic and since the majority of the crime in this town is committed by Illegal Hispanics maybe he can do something about it. He came here from Oaklahoma City.
Don't get your logic Lon? What does his ethnicity have to do with anything? Do you think that aspiring Hispanic criminals will cease activity and become Sunday School teachers because they don't want to let Tio Paca down? Is the majority actually committed by "illegals" or is that your assumption? Does not seem likely to me. I am sure that some is, but the majority? If anyone is actually saying this,I would damn sure need to see some statistics.
His ethnicity is just coincidental and our city, like all of California has many illegals committing crime and it's not an assumption. How many illegal immigrants are there in California? Undocumented (also known as illegal or unauthorized) immigrants are not directly identified in any representative national or state surveys. But the best estimates suggest that in 2014, the year of the most recent data available, California was home to between 2.35 and 2.6 million undocumented immigrants.
We had over 70 murders in 220 that in one way or another were related to gangs of Hispanic origin. With 17 murders so far this year we will break that record. Our new police chief is asking for more resources and more boots on the street.
I'm from Chicago. My first hot girlfriend's dad was killed by the madman mafioso Sam DeStefano, and stuffed in a sewer, in the winter. When the thaw came, the sewer overflowed, and his body was found. The pic of the crowds reacting, as he was pulled out, won the AP Photo of the Year. My second business, out of college, was threatened by the Mafia. The guy calling me, warning me to close down, was actually one of the guys who killed Sam D., as above. Small world?
That's history but do you have many murders where you live NOW? That was my question. There is a big difference between the Mafia & Mexican Gangs
Actually, there isn't a big difference, and I'm not going to school you as to why you're wrong, for many, many reasons.
No, but our problem in SW Virginia is drug related mostly. Beth Macy, who wrote the book Dopesick is from our town, and now they are planning to make the book into a movie. I've heard that Michael Keaton will be one of the actors. I'm looking forward to seeing it, as I read the book twice, since I'm familiar with a lot of places, towns, and high schools, etc which were mentioned in the book. I was elated to hear that the big wheels at the company Purdue Pharma, the maker of the opioid drug OxyContin, recently pled guilty to three federal charges and agreed to an $8 billion settlement to resolve probes into its alleged role in fueling the opioid crisis. The drugs have taken a terrible toll on the youth, resulting in heart-wrenching deaths of youths, especially.
There was a fairly big black gang problem when we lived in Jacksonville, FL.. A lot of black-on-black murders. Where we live now, the murder rate is so low, people don't even think about it. We have no gangs or gang signs/tagging. Then again, our demographics is 97% White. DUI and sometimes drug arrests are the biggest thing here. South of us, in Denver, the murder rate can be/is very different, but the demographics is very different as well. One city, part of Denver metro, is like a "little Mexico".
