That's too bad there wasn't better turnout. Looks like the staff put a lot of work into it. I hope they didn't get too discouraged...people who do that kind of stuff do it in anticipation of the enjoyment others will get. The only times of the year I miss not having cable or satellite TV is March Madness and College football playoffs. Most of the best games are not televised over the air.
Sounds like they got plenty of leftovers. NCAA basketball ain't over until Monday. Then there's the celebratory beers, and the cryin' in the beers, depending.
You do know, Lon, that you put three of the same picture on your thread? Also, noticed that the people in the picture are all wearing masks. A lot of times, you say the word "party" to Seniors, they will run the other way. Or, none of the residents are interested in NCAA basketball.
It's no April Fool . My Assisted Living has Happy Hour every Thursday from 4 to 6 PM. The beverage is wines. Residents wanting beer or liquor will do so in their apartments.
I've been to more Happy Hours than I can count. It's been a while. I think these have gone by the wayside, with crackdown on DUIs and the increased liability of those who serve alcohol. It could be a regional thing. Perhaps those who live in cities with public transportation (subway systems) to cart them home still get sloshed with 1/2 price drinks.
It was at the shopping center at Route 50 and Gallows Road in Merrifield. There was a Giant Food at the back end of the strip mall, a CVS in the middle, the bar was on Gallows Road. It changed names a few times. Used to be a favorite place to hang out.
