Why thank ye for the Golden Job of Opportunity, Terence..! I love to do time consuming jobs.. Panning sounds veddy interesting to say the least!! let me get me shoes on and let me take care of this here chicken i was about to slaughter for our dinner tonight first ,, and then you can show me the ropes. so to speak !
Louise will take a chicken and killet And put it in a skillet and fry it nice and brown. Terence has built us a nice sluice box to use for panning our gold. I'm thinking that will be easier than removing flakes from the rocks. That sounds like a lot of hard work to me. And I'm allergic to hard work. It makes me break out in a sweat.
Well, after a hard day at the sluice box, we have a few gold flakes. Not enough to make us rich but a pretty good start. Tired but happy, we make our way back to the cabin and the delicious fried chicken supper that @Louise Miller has prepared for us. But disaster strikes.
Just as we were rounding the last bend to get back to the cabin, there came an ominous rumble. It quickly became a deafening roar. I recognized the sound..... ROCK SLIDE!!!!!!!! "Run!", I said. We ran as quickly as we could. The whole mountainside came crashing down behind us. Craig's leg was caught under a rock but Terence took the rope off Bruce's back, tied it around the rick and our trusty friend, Bruce, pulled it off. It looks like Craig's leg is only bruised. But....... and this is a big but....... The rock slide blocked our trail out of the valley. We are trapped here. And because we are in a valley surrounded by tall mountains, there is no cell phone reception. What do we do now?
Good old Bruce and Terence. What a pair. My leg aint broken.. badly bruised.. all I need is in our First Aid box. Boy were we lucky we all weren't crushed to death......
No cell phone useage so a rescue is out of the question. We either wait for someone to come along or we have Bruce take us out one by one. Mules are great climbers....
He and Bruce are constant companions.. surely not.. as his mule is fine. Terence.. Terence! Craig called.. with the echo sounding a few seconds later.. Terence Terence!
