Good for you. I had gone years without having a pet, and when I moved here and then retired, I tried a dog from the local SPCA. It didn't work out, for a lot of reasons. But I still miss having a critter around.
Happy for you Lon and saving a kitty thank you! Bonnie my kitty adopted from my vet, we or I was watchin g TV
Doing some things online is fine, but not sure about adopting a pet. Would rather see and hold the pet first.
He said he's going to see the cats in another thread. Which reminds me... @Lon Tanner ... if you would keep all the posts about a single subject in a single thread, we'd all be able to keep up with the story.
I imagine that all animal shelters have similar requirements to determine the suitability of the new pet owner and the housing .I'm amazed by the questions regarding finances and prior pet ownership.
Lon, you will need supplies for your kitty. He will need exercise so you will need a climbing thingamajig. He will need a scratching post so that he doesn't claw your furniture. He will need a variety of toys so that he doesn't become bored.
