Good shot, Ternece! Thanks, Fred, for helping! Craig, thank you for getting me untangled. You're my hero. My oxygen was getting low and I know yours was about to give out. Some local people heard the shot. They asked if they could have the dead alligator. The tail is supposed to be good eatin'. They said that they saw something that looks like an old sunken boat once when the river was way down from a drought. They said it was just around the next bend. Let's take a look there. Craig, there won't be any treasure on the remains of the boat but we will have solved the mystery of what happened to the people of the Lost Colony....... If it turns out to be their boat. One theory is that they came inland and joined a Native American tribe. We could be world famous.
Wow that was a close shave. You and Fred are life savers Terence. I will gladly be your hero Shirley. So you think the wreck was from the Lost Colony trying to flee Roanoke Island.........
If we find it and if it looks authentic, I vote that we contact someone connected with the Lost Colony Historical Society and tell them about it. They can secure the site and protect it from being vandalized. Then we can begin our next adventure! What do y'all say?
Actually, I wouldn't mind some of those Alligator steaks too, for the kids at the Orphanage, and I'd like to taste it too. There is a small freezer in the galley. I ate some Crocodile in Northern Australia. Nice tender white meat that tasted just like Chicken.
I'm sure they will share. I don't know how to cook it, though. We will need to find Gator recipes. We have arrived at the possible site of the sunken boat. Craig, let's go down and take a look. I don't see any more gators lurking around.
I am ready Shirley. Let's do it. How do we determine if it is the Lost Colony boat. I will take my underwater camera and capture what we find. Twenty minutes later Craig spots something thru the murky water laying on the river floor. "I think we have found it Shirley. Looks about the same period as the Lost Colony"........
It absolutely does! We need to contact the Historical Society and let them take it from here. Let's tell them to keep our names out of it or the news media will hound us wherever we go. Then it's onward to our next story. Y'all agree?
A little fame never hurt anyone Shirley. When the boat is salvaged we will ask the Society to place a plaque with our first name only on the side. This way we will remain anonymous and only famous in Society circles... Seeing as tho Terence was not in on the find only fair we allow him to plan our next adventure story.. y'all agree......
Uhm, thanks Craig? Nothing comes to mind just yet but I'll keep thinking. hmmmn...? How about an intergalactic adventure? Joking. Best to keep it local I reckon. Keep our local knowledge, contacts, ....I like staying in Carolina. Any thoughts. New member? 3 to 4 are good numbers I reckon. What about the aftermath of a huge storm? Any ideas? Sheriff Watts could make us deputies of some sort? Anyway, let's finish this adventure first. I spy with my li... Maybe even a part II Roanoke ? ? with a call from Deputy Crow from Roanoke Island?...... I could do that. Nothing too heavy. I like the aftermath of a storm with nuances of Roanoke?? I'll keep thinking. Cheers Shirley and Craig, Terry glad you like my avatar Craig. I do love dogs.
Craig n Shirley, Sheriff Watts is bringing in the experts and real good scuba divers to check out the old wreck. Sheriff says to put our feet up and keep quite as you suggested Shirley. Craig, Young Jimmy and I uploaded your pics of the wreck and Jimmy spent hours enlarging them and found this that looks like a skeleton. Who knows what that means but I emailed the pic to our Sheriff Jerry Watts. He knows what to do. He said Deputy Crow visited Chief Flying Eagle with his rewards from the Mountain incident and passed his blessings to us all. We are honoured indeed. Then Sheriff Watts got me on the radio, as you heard, and asked me if I knew where Deputy Crow was. "Dunno" I said for us naturally? OK? More importantly, me and the kids reckon fried Alligator steaks are the best way to cook them, but still not as good as Crocodile I reckon. Still tastes like chicken. A little Curry n salt helps. Those clouds to the NE look dark.
Another member sounds a good idea Terence. You were telling me about one of Miss Phil's associates. a former missionary.. and how she still had a sense for adventure. Perhaps she.. How old is Jimmy......... A part 11 Roanoke Island. What do you say Shirley................. .
Jimmy is 13 Craig. He's a smart boy. The two other sisters were Bridget and Kathlyn Craig but I never mentioned either was a missionary?? I prefer the next adventure to be a massive storm. More things to do I reckon.
Put this to Shirley Terence (or do you prefer Terry).. that is if we can find the elusive southern lady....
