Well I'm born and reared in Alaska and in some form or other I've been around in Alaska originally from Fairbanks u know.
I can't imagine. That must be unlike any other life in the states (well, sort of in the states. Have you lived in populated areas, or are we talking "If I don't cut enough firewood this summer I'll freeze to death this winter" constantly on the bubble stuff? I could not do that. I would be like some old Eskimo and wander off onto an ice floe and put a rapid end to it.
So a friend just asked me: "How does the oil flow through that pipeline in the wintertime? It's got no heaters to keep it thin enough."
I've lived through weather up there that ain't fit for man or beast if you were too place them at the South Pole of Alaska
I'm from the second largest city, yes I did say City in Alaska called Fairbanks. The first big City that people touch down at is called Anchorage,
That oil comes out of the ground some what like gasoline. It doesn't freeze and every mile of that pipeline is checked and heated every foot of the way. That's what keeps people employed up there maintaining it, pretty much like their maintaining this East Coast Pipeline going from Texas to NJ. ?
Never heard of a Fair Bank just like I haven’t heard of a truthful lawyer but yes, I have heard of Fairbanks. Did some work in Eluk, Alaska. It’s quite a distance from Fairbanks but still, a lot of our people headed that way when salmon processing season ended and their pockets were full.
when i was about 10ish, my parents were going to move to Fairbanks. It was some program the government here was sponsoring. Not sure why we di not move there, but always wondered how my life would have been there.
